“Nice place”
Reviewed March 26, 2013

I was there for two nights for business. The room was very nice and "roomy" with two beds, large bathroom, and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even gave directions to a place I could get a watch batter. The location is very good, right on Wolf Road so convenient to meetings, shopping and restaurants. Very nice, new Japanese restaurant on same grounds as the hotel. That was very convenient because I stayed on the night of a snowstorm and only had to walk across the parking lot. The only downside was that there was no effort at snow removal, so you had to haul your luggage across several inches of melting snow in the parking lot, and it was hard to tell where to park since it wasn't plowed. But otherwise, nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Stay further down the hall from the restaurant/fitness/pool area as it was very heavily and noisily...

We only stayed one night on our way from New Hampshire to Niagara Falls, but were pleased with the hotel. Though it is more of a business traveller's hotel, it was a nice place to stay. There was a small fridge in the room, clean and roomy bathroom, good wi-fi and friendly staff. The only downsides I could think of were the beds were a bit hard and there was a constant dripping sound from the air-conditioner. Other reviewers had warned about traffic noise with rooms facing the street, but we didn't notice anything. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

I was there this wekend tor the America east tournament and our stay was excellent. The front desk manager was excellent and he was a tremendous help all weekend. Our team lost but it was still a great time. Little tip ask for a room facing opposite from the noisey highway and Beer pricey

I stayed here for two nights on a recent business trip. Overall, it is a very nice property. The rooms are spacious, modern, and comfortable. The room I had was a "suite" - not two separate rooms as you would traditionally expect in a suite, but a disticnt sleeping area and living area with no wall between. It gave the room a nice open feeling - the benefit of the extra space without a wall in between.

I did find the room layout to be a little quirky in a couple of ways. First of all, there is a very nice desk area, but the flat screen TV is mounted on the wall above the desk making it virtually impossible to sit at the desk and watch TV while working. There is WiFi in the rooms so if you want to sit on the couch with your computer and watch TV that way it's an option, but it would have been nice for the TV to be better positioned. Second, there wasn't a straight path between the sleeping area and the bathroom. If you have to get up to use the facilities in the middle of the night you risk running into the desk chair or the coffee table, which I did on both nights. Both of these are just minor issues with the room and I wouldn't avoid staying there because of either of them.

The staff could have been a bit more attentive. On both nights I pushed the "Wakeup Call" button on the phone. On the first night it rang about 15 times before I hung up. I tried again a few minutes later and the front desk after about 10 rings and took my wakeup call request. On the second night I tried twice, about 15 minutes apart, and nobody picked up either time. So I called the front desk and that phone rang about 10 times before someone answered.

There is a small cafe in the lobby. Their offerings are quite limited - coffee, a few pastries, yogurt, and a small selection of hot made-to-order items like French Toast. There's also Dunkin Donuts right next door. I ate breakfast in the cafe and it was ok, but definitely nothing to write home about.

One small negative is that the hotel is right up against the highway, so you get a lot of traffic noise. If you're tired enough it may not bother you, but I had a little difficulty getting to sleep on my first night.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the side of the building facing away from the thruway!

I stayed at the Courtyard for the first time on a business trip. the location is extremely convenient--close to the University and the Crossgate Mall. The hotel is very clean, the staff is extremely friendly. My only complaint is the restaurant--the service is amazing, but with few choices and everything is warmed up or cooked in the microwave.

When in Albany, we used to stay with family. This caused anxiety. We tried this hotel last summer and found it to be great. Now we only stay here and visit more often.
It is a great value and a comfortable place to stay.

My family stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Albany Thruway for 2 nights over Christmas, while visiting family in the area. I have not felt so comfortable or rested in a hotel in some time. It is new and built to the standards of the Courtyard model, but the bed was very comfortable, everything in the hotel was clean, and the staff were all service-oriented. A great value.
