Stayed here on a very busy Friday night in August en route to a hiking destination in the Adirondacks. Despite the rush of guests, literally everything about the experience was smooth and professional from start to finish. No snags, no rudeness, no discomfort. The representatives on the phone and in person were courteous, informative, and pleasant, even when they clearly had a lot on their plate. Our planned late-hour arrival was handled smoothly, pleasantly, and with no delay or confusion. The staff even allowed us to leave one car on the lot for a few hours after checkout as well, which helped with our trip arrangements. Very accommodating and truly made everything work without a hitch.
The lobby seemed spotless, and the room was spotless too, with only one small exception of some pretty significant dust behind furniture and around the mini-fridge--though not anywhere else. The room was fully stocked with towels and was very quiet -- could not hear any of our neighbors. Excellent shower with great water pressure. The only noise issue was the rather loud mini-fridge and the constant soft wash of traffic noise from I-90, which is pretty close to the hotel. None of this kept us awake, though the fridge in particular could be annoying for some people. The freshly-made, firmness-adjustable beds seemed unusual at first because of the adjustability mattress, but they were actually amazing - I got a great night's sleep. As some other reviewers have noted, the air conditioner was a little bit loud, as is standard at many hotels, but it worked great and did not keep us awake. It was not musty or rattly.
Best of all, breakfast in the morning was delicious and included a range of fruits as well as eggs and bacon etc., and there were kitchen staff who make omelettes to order. They seemed harried but always polite and friendly. There was an attentive waitress serving coffee as well.
I didn't use the pool or fitness room, but when I poked my head into both they seemed clean and in good working order. A few families with kids were using the pool and seemed to be enjoying it.
In sum, this is a terrific hotel for travelers passing through the region, as well as a great home base for anyone visiting the Albany area. Although not cheap, it's also nowhere near as expensive as what you'd pay for the same services in Saratoga or Lake George. You get much more for your money here than at most comparably priced hotels. Highly recommended. I would gladly stay here again.
