Don't believe the "boutique" hype about this place. This is a converted office building furnished with run of a mill hotel furniture. Nothing modern or hip about it. Each room has just one tiny window -- some located at the corner of the room -- giving some rooms a jail cell feeling. That feeling is enhanced with the rooms that have air shaft views.

Bed was comfortable enough. TV worked. Hot water was fine.

This place is nothing more than a business motel.

I thought this place was really cute!!! It seemed posh and it was a reasonable price. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurants were good...a bit expensive but not too bad. You can't beat the location. We walked down to the water and around Albany....it is by lots of places to eat. Very convenient. They valet your car for extra money but it was worth it to me so I didn't have the headache of having to find a spot myself.
Overall I thought very good quality for the price, friendly staff, great location!

We passed through Albany on our way to Canada and this boutique hotel was a little gem in an eerily empty city (it was Saturday on Independence Day weekend). We arrived mid-afternoon and the valet gallantly informed us that street parking was free on weekends. The rooms were lovely and the A la carte breakfast was a feast to the eyes and stomach.

The hotel is very central, it’s right next to Pearl St with a large number of restaurants. We walked to the State House and the controversial Empire State Plaza with its bowl theatre and giant skyscraper. In the other direction was the amazing university administration building that didn’t seem to rate on any of the maps. We were disappointed that there didn’t seem to be a riverside walk next to the Hudson just interlacing roads.

I don’t give the city much chop; but if you have to stay in Albany, this place is fantastic!

Pleasant Stay for a business trip for my wife. The hotel is quaint. Nicely done, but not overly luxurious. Our room on the 8th floor was it he back of the hotel, so we did not hear any of the noise from the construction the City was doing on State Street. The room was average size, with the necessary appointments. The water pressure in the shower was terrible. It felt like a little stream or drizzle.

The people were the best part. From the Valets, especially Ed, to Tom, who served us in the bar on the second floor, everyone was terrific.

The area, in the middle of downtown Albany, is ok for the business seminar that my wife was attending, but given a choice we would prefer to stay where the seminar was give the past few years in the town of Colonie. We arrived on Sunday evening and just about everything was closed. Downtown basically closed for the night and rolled the sidewalks up.

Great Place to stay. great room. even without windows. Completely renovated. looks brand new. Great hotel staff, very accommodating. We forgot our toothpaste and they quickly provided a tube. GREAT MATTRESS, we want to buy one but could not find the brand. Great huge walkin shower.
Overpriced breakfast. Just so-so food. Coffee just okay.
