Chester A. Arthur the 21st President is buried in this huge and old cemetery named Albany Rural Cemetery. This is a very nice and peaceful cemetery. Not a lot of information on how to find the grave though. You just have to look it up online at their website at www.albanyruralcemetery.org and it gives you a location. But no directions. It was easy enough to find and fun driving in the cemetery. A lot of dignataries buried here.
Quite a different grave for Chester Arthur with a huge memorial concrete casket above ground and an angel standing and overlooking the tomb. If you are in the area it is worth the visit.

my sister and I were in Albany on a Monday in March. We had planned to go to the New York State Museum but found that it is not open on Mondays. No matter, we are very good at improvising and coming up with new plans on a moments notice. At a tourism center underneath the mall, we spoke to someone who gave us several ideas of interesting things to see. We chose to go to the Albany Rural Cemetery (among other places) and we were not disappointed. Its a great place, with a lot of history and a lot of interesting gravesites and gravestones. A man in the entrance building gave me a map of the cemetery which was a valuable tool to have, since the cemetery is absolutely huge. We were able to find Chester Arthurs grave, which is really unique.
