It's an observation deck only -- go to the top on a clear day and see to Mass, the Catskills and Vermont.

I haven't been to the Corning Tower for several years now, but I look fondly back at the times my family has visited. The views are spectacular, including a view of the Albany port. The elevator ride to the top is quick - and for me, who is afraid of heights, pretty painless. I know it's irrational, but I remember fearing that my daughter would scare me with how close she got to the inside wall. She loved it!

Hmm, not much to say here except the security is a little tough to get through at first, but the view is incredible and an excellent place for pictures.

There is a place to get something to eat, although not located on the same floor.

Fun place to take the kids once or twice.

The lobby features some nice sculptures. The observation area is clean and offers great views of the Hudson and Albany. There is a nice woman at the desk that welcomes you when you exit the elevator. Aside from my family there was one other person visiting. Not sure how crowded this place gets in the Spring/Summer, but it's definitely worth going up. You pay top dollar to go up to observation decks in other major cities. I find it so pleasing that there is no fee at the Corning Tower. I would recommend anyone visit this attraction. The only thing that I think would be a great feature for this area would be a snack bar. People would linger longer and spend a few dollars.

Sorry, I live here so I put more than a year ago because I don't know when I did this. It is an elevator ride up to the top of a tall building that looks out at nothing. Maybe it is because I live here? I love going up to observation decks in a city like NY or Chicago because you get a sense for the size and scope of the city, all the other tall buildings, etc. Here you see Cohoes, the Hudson, Troy....wow.
