I live near Albany and think this is an awesome sight. Newly renovated and well worth the tour. The Capitol tour is about an hour and the State museum and view from the Corning Tower are nearby.

“Beautiful historic building”

I visit here about once every 5 or 6 years, with visiting guests. Not to be missed, the million $$$ staircase and the "hall of flags" (I forget what it's called)

“Gorgeous building”

Worth touring-a spectacular edifice and totally gorgeous chambers. The Italian stone cutters did some job.

“Amazing place.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

This is an amazing place, both on the outside and on the inside. Try to plan ahead and get on a tour of the Capital Bldg. You get to walk round the hall where all the decisions for the State are made, really close up as well, ie. can sit in the chairs of the members.

Well worth a visit.

“A Beautiful Building with Great History”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012

If you are planning a trip to Albany, be sure to schedule a tour of the NYS Capitol. This building is truly a work of art. With its Million Dollar Staircase and beautiful legislative chamber, it truly is a lovely building. The tour guide will also fill your head with great stories about the NYS legislature. Well worth it!
