“Can I at least get a glass of water?!?”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

We had reservations and still had to wait 45 mins for a server (who was not at all apologetic or even remotely pleasant) to come over to take our order!! Our drinks NEVER came! We spotted a pitcher of water on a nearby waitress station. We filled our own glasses and shared the remaining water with a nearby table that was as fed up as we were. We eventually passed the point of aggravation and actually wondered if we were on a hidden camera show. It was THAT BAD!
Our food finally came out 5 minutes before we were going to have to get up and leave to catch our 7:00 show.. We scarfed it down so quick I couldn't even tell you if it was good, I just felt sick.
They refused to take any percentage of our bill. I don’t imagine this restaurant will be in business much longer.
Very dissapointed

“restaurant week”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

I know it is restaurant week in Albany, And Carmine's brazilian is now just Carmines Italian but it was the worst service we have been to in some time. Bartender, Nichole was great we waited for our 7:00 reservation while others were seated before us. finally we ask what was going on and can we please be seated.the waitress we had was taking care of too many tabes and unable to give the service to any of us. We sat for quite a while waiting for our drinks then quite a while for our food. we were done and waiting to have the food wrapped. She saw us waiting but had to take care of other tables before she could finish with us. The food was great but i doubt we will go back because of the service.

“It's OK. Save your money!!”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Not terrible. It was just OK. Service and cleanliness were OK. The foood was below average...probably my fault for getting seafood in an italian restaurant...to my defense it was their recommendation. The shrimp were strong tasting....like they were soaked in pond water!! The bread was good and came with a variety of toppings.. BTW, it is no longer a brazilian grill...it is now and Italian Grill!! Don't go...

“Where is Carmine's?”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Ok, so the Brazilian Grill is gone, and now Carmine has resurrected his traditional Italian cuisine....but what happened? His restaurant on Central Ave was a favorite, but we've been to the new one on Sheridan St 3 times, and each time it was worse than the previous time, so guess what...3 strikes and you're out. Service was terrible - we waited an hour and a half for our dinners, never got the 2nd glass of wine, and the food was either luke warm or tasted like salt. There are several other restaurants in the immediate area, and those are the ones we'll support for our next Cap Rep or Albany Symphony. :-(

“It was alright.”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Glad they decided to go back to Italian. Though the idea of a Brazilian grill is great; the food was sup par. The atmosphere was cozy and colorful, very appropriate for a Brazilian grill. The starter table had what looked to be a lot of great choices and I could have easily made a meal of just those items. The variety was fantastic; but when you actually tried the food most of it was on the cooler side and dried out. When it came time for the meat it was nice to try multiple different styles. The sauces and rubs were tasty but most of the meat was over cooked and tough. I guess you get what you pay for. For the amount of food offered the price seems very reasonable but not after you actually try the food. They did have a nice red sangria.
