Tours during the fall are on the hour and you must take a tour to see the house. The house is sparsely furnished but the openness makes the structure itself more interesting. The front hall has a painted canvas floor. Rooms are well lit by large windows and the house must have had a magnificent view of the Hudson River before the city of Albany grew around it. I enjoyed this look at how early well-to-do settlers in this area lived.
