“GOOD BAR FOOD AND A GOOD BEER SELECTION”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

When the Pump Station is a long wait or if you just want a seat and a beer, this is the place to go. Interesting beer selection and all the food is good, although the chick. wings were a little under cooked.

“Good staff and brews”
Reviewed March 27, 2014

Staff was excellent, gave tastes of beers I had not tried. Good atmosphere and nice selection of beers. P.S. Do not go for the full bar, very minimal, really a beer and scotch pub.

“Lunch at The Olde English Pub”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

Kathy ordered the CHICKEN SHEPHERD’S PIE.$8.95; very different as the chicken was brined resulting in a distinctive yet attractive taste along with the Andouille sausage accompanying the more traditional peas and garlic mashed potatoes.

However the jewel of this pub was their signature dish, FISH & CHIPS $12.95, simply said without exaggeration, the best fish and chips I ever had and that includes numerous times ordered in London at local pubs [not tourist attractions]. Heavily beer battered this extremely thick piece of fish was fortunate to carry such diameter otherwise it could not have survived in the fryer long enough to result in a very crunchy exterior without harming the delicate flaky white interior.

A perfect ending after taking an Albany Trolley tour on the History of the Irish in Albany hosted by ex-politician and longtime historian Jack McEneny

“Great healthy bar food”
Reviewed March 10, 2014 via mobile

I was traveling for business and looking for a healthy meal. Had delicious vegetable curry soup and excellent kale salad with chicken thigh. The service (and beer) are also great.

“Order the ham and cheese toasty”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

Housed in one of the oldest buildings in Albany this former French restaurant now offers beer and English fare. Take the kids in the summer, old English phone booth is a nice surprise for teens with a fascination of London.
