“Great place”

We stayed at The CrestHill Suites to attend orientation for my daughter who will be attending Suny in the fall. The hotel is great, rooms are large and clean with kitchens, not stove tops and little fridges but complete with ovens and full size refridgerators! It was immaculate and the staff was wonderful. They even had a shuttle we took to the mall. I would definitely stay here again. Have already booked my next stay!

We stayed in this hotel for only one night because we were heading to Montreal Canada. The front desk were nice and helpful, and our suite was a two queen size beds and a sofa bed. It had a kitchenette to take care of our immediate needs. The room was spacious for our kids to move around. The breakfast was not hot just cereal and muffins and boiled eggs, which was fine if thats what you like but nothing fancy. There are better hotels around this hotel but this one met our budget.

My husband needed to be in Albany for business, so we decided to come as a family. Cresthill Suites was one of the few hotels that offered two bedroom suites with complete kitchens.

PROS: Two bedroom suites are available, two bedroom units offer 3 TV's, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and living area. There is a small outdoor pool. The common areas are kept pretty clean and look nice. The beds were pretty comfortable and consisted of a king bed in one bedroom and 2 queens in the other.

CONS: Once in our suite it was apparent that the property is not mainted well. The kitchen did not appear very clean, and the cabinets and appliances were in "rough" condition. It is advertised as having a fully stocked kitchen, but there was not enough silverwear for our family and very little pots/pans. There were only 2 smalll sauce pans and 1 tiny skillet (large enough for 1 egg). We did call the front desk and they did bring us more silverwear and a strainer. There was no way to control the room temperature in the living and kitchen area. There were only working controls in each bedroom. In order to get some air in the living area we had to open the window, which greatly increased the traffic noise, as our windows faced the interstate. The carpet was fairly clean, but the sofa in the living room was in desperate need of being replaced. It was filthy and overall shabby condition. Housekeeping did come every day, however they did as little as possible. One day, their way of making the beds was to throw the bedspreads in the corner of the room and throw the blankets over ths sheets. I had to ask them to vacuum the floors twice, as I had the impression that all they wanted to do was exchange our towels and make the beds. Cresthill also advertises a "hot breakfast". I am not sure what they mean by "hot". Breakfast consists of cold cereals, pre-packaged danishes, english muffins, bagels, coffee, juice, yogurt and hard boiled eggs. Breakfast was fine and did meet our needs, however, I wish Cresthill wouldn't advertise a hot breakfast when there isn't one.

Overall, it was not a horrible experience, as we had space for our family and the rates were lower compared to the other 2 bedroom suites available in Albany at the time. This could be a nice suite-hotel if it were maintained better.

When we come to Albany we always stay at the Cresthill Suites. The full kitchen: oven, cooktop, fridge, microwave meant that we could do some major wedding reception cooking one year. Its clean and convenient. They had had problems with housekeeping, either no or very late maid service, in past years but that appears to have been cleared up too! The one-bedroom suites are spacious and bright, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is clean. We're close to the highway but noise isn't too bad. They have a business center and wireless/wired Internet in the rooms (3046 kbps down/840 kbps up.) Like most of us I'd like a cheaper price but its a good value.

We enjoyed our stay. The property has a great staff that was very friendly and attentive. When there was an issue with the boiler we were quickly moved to another room. When my wife misplaced her wool cap they were equally helpful in trying to locate the item.

They have a small gym that is pretty decent along w/ a fairly nice TV lounge, and are very dog friendly.

I would recommend.

We stayed here for a week with our two teenage daughters and although we don't have major complaints, some things do need mentioning. The housekeeping service at Cresthill Suites need some major cleaning up ---- they should fire every staff! Days when we did get cleaning, the rooms weren't vacuumed and all they really did was change the garbage bags, add a few new towels and that's it. The bathtubs were dirty and hair was still everywhere (both our girls have long hair) day after day. Sometimes our rooms weren't cleaned till after 6pm!! However, the location was ideal for our purpose, rooms were spacey, malls and other conveniences were within easy reach. By the way, breakfast was awful.
