Room was outstanding - high quality linens, extremely comfortable bed, sitting area, tons of character, clean. Staff very friendly and helpful at check-in, breakfast and check-out. They go out of their way to provide helpful information about local restaurants. Great location - on a tree-lined street of stately homes, across from a park and a block away from a busy and safe street with many restaurant and bar options.

This place is just great. My wife and I were looking for a place to spend the night while taking a multi-day drive. We'd been looking farther south, but couldn't find anything, and reluctantly chose The Washington Park Morgan State House, one of their apartment-style rooms a couple of buildings down from their inn. We had low expectations—we were thinking a studio apartment, just a place to sleep for the night—and we were awfully surprised by what we found when we got there.

The room (#404) was very spacious, nicely designed, elegantly appointment, and thoughtfully laid out. The two-room apartment had a luxurious queen-sized bed, a couch with a coffee table, a dresser, a breakfast table, a desk with a workspace, a large closest, and a small kitchen. It's been modernized from the century-old design clearly original to the building, but with an eye towards its heritage.

It's right downtown, so there the sounds of the city are unavoidable, but it's across from a park, so they're relatively muffled, making the most of an urban experience without being alarming to us folks who hail from the countryside.

The next morning we headed a few doors down to the inn, where we had a very nice, self-serve, standard B&B style of breakast: toast, English muffins, a selection of jams, several kinds of juices, muffins, and cold and hot cereal. A copy of the New York Times was on the table. It had been raining the prior day, so the amenities in their back garden were covered up against the weather, so we didn't get a sense of that. The young women working there the prior night and the one that morning were both friendly without being as overbearing, as some B&B hosts can be. (They didn't want to be our new best friends, but they were far friendlier than hotel staff.)

Neither of us have the faintest interest in Albany, but now we're looking for a reason to go there. We know just where to stay.

The Morgan State house provided a wonderful experience against the backdrop of the Bar Exam, which was why I was in Albany. The room was beautiful and comfortable, and the one minor problem I had (a bat ended up in my room somehow) was handled quickly by Chuck, one of the (I think!) owners. I ended up in a new room right away without having to move any of my stuff so that I could get a full night's rest.

The common areas of the old house are great; yogurt, fruit, and pastries are available. Very nice backyard space.

I did sleep one night in the newer building (because of the bat), and I can say that while it's definitely not anywhere near as nice or atmospheric as the townhouse property, it's still nicer than a normal chain hotel experience.

We had booked a room expecting to stay in one of the rooms in the actual bed and breakfast. Instead, we were sent to a nearby and slightly shabby apartment -condo building with no breakfast room and a small, dark and not terribly comfortable lobby. In addition, check-in was a lengthy and confusing process. There was no place for unloading luggage and the parking lot was a block away and cost an extra $10 a night, a fact not noted one the website. The breakfast, served in the actual B&B was a paltry self-service affair of bagels, toast, etc.
The nearby Hilton would have served better, and for a lower price.

Very charming Bed and Brakfast and nice decor. Well located and thoughtful hosts.
Could think of adding more than what is already added without agreeing with the other guests comments.

This place is truly amazing. I am from Albany but have moved down to Charlotte NC. I was back up in Albany for my bridal shower and decided to surprise my fiance with a night off the aero bed at the parent's place. I was also doing a surprise photo shoot for him earlier in the day, so I was able to get into the room a little bit earlier in the day. They were really flexible with letting me check in early, which was much apprecited.

We stayed in room 3B. When you come in they give you 2 sets of keys - one for the front door and another for your room. Room 3B was a good size. They provide you with 2 plush robes. Bathroom was large and water pressure was perfect. Bed is so comfortable with a down bed and comforter. The sheets are so soft and luxurious. The bedroom has a really masculine feel with 2 leather chairs and dark wood. A small TV is provided, as well as high-speed internet. Remember that this is an old brownstone, with old windows, so you will hear a good amount of outside noice (the morning we were there, the street cleaners were out). Also, there are no blinds, just curtains, so it was fairly bright fairly early in the morning.

Common spaces are very nice. There is a comfortable window seat in the front of the house which was perfect to sit at while driking coffee and having breakfast. They also have numerous tables as well as couches in the common areas. Breakfast included pastries, coffee, cereal, hard boiled eggs, juice, milk, bagels and toast, but they would make eggs for you on request. This was a weekday, I think that there are more choices on the weekend. You also have access to the items in the kitchen at any time, as this is a B&B.

In terms of amenities -
High speed internet is very fast. You will have no issues with this. Morgan State House uses the local YMCA for fitness access. I have not been to that one, but they will give you passes. Parking is mainly on street and is sometimes hard to find, especially in the winter, you just need to pay attention to the signs. They do have a lot, but I believe it costs $10 a day and you need to let them know in advance.

Overall this is a great place to stay, and I would highly recommend it. Will probably be back again!
