“Perfect HQ for this tropical paradise”
Reviewed May 6, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Where to start........
On contacting the owner we had all our (daft) questions answered and the booking and deposit process was painless.
On arrival we were met at the small island airstrip by John (Purvis, owner) and were driven the 20 minute journey to Anse La Blague where 'The House' is situated.
The short drive was a tonic after travelling from the UK, be prepared, Praslin will take your breath away. John was the perfect chaffeur and guide, by the time we were unloading the luggage we had a good working knowledge of the island.
'The House' is perfect for your Praslin stay, it is situated just a few metres from two picturesque empty beaches fringed with tropical trees and all areas of the island are within a 20 minute drive. It has three bedrooms in the main house with a seperate Annex you can rent if you need an extra bedroom, kitchen and living area.
'The House' is well appointed and we had a very comfortable stay, the bathrooms are modern, there is air conditioning in the bedrooms (you'll need it, it gets very warm !!), good storage and the beds are comfy.
The kitchen has all you'll need and there's a TV in the lounge, although we were too busy exploring to spend much time watching the box. Breakfast on the veranda was perfect.
'The House' is detached and has trees all around with lawn at the front, the flora and fauna with the added interest of some local wildlife gives you a very tranquil setting. There is parking for a car or two which I think are essential to enjoy all the island has to offer. John has two small vehicles which he hires out for a very reasonable price.
We were invited for a meal at John's house which is only a short walk down the road. Here we met Veronique, John's wife, and his wonderful children. We are veggies and Veronique catered for us admirably and we finished the evening enjoying a cold drink and chatting about all and sundry, John and his family are marvellous company.
If you've never been to the Seychelles, go.
Praslin is breathtakingly beautiful, the beaches are other-worldly and the tropical forests and rocky landscapes are amazing.
The island is incredibly laid back, there are plenty of places to eat and quite a few small supermarkets. As veggies we had no problems. A special mention must go to Phil who is the chef and owns PK's @ Pasquiere, it's on the road to Anse Lazio (one of the most beautiful beaches we've seen), he regularly cooked off menu for us and the food's smashing and very reasonably priced, John will direct you as he's a personal friend of the restaurants owner.
You should also think about some trips to other nearby islands, John and Veronique will advise you on how to hire a man with a boat. Curieuse has a giant tortoise sanctuary and La Digue is lovely, there are various areas which offer excellent snorkeling nearby.
We had the most splendid time, 'The House' was everything we needed, John and his family are the perfect hosts and we will be back as soon as the piggy bank has topped up.
John and Veronique, thank you for looking after us and for all your hard work, we will hopefully see you at 'The House' again sooner rather than later.

Management Response
Dec 3, 2016
The problem with the hairy caterpillars has affected many tourism establishments and is regretted. There is no easy solution, apart from cutting down trees.
The third bedroom is rather small but is air-conditioned and the absence of a window onto the exterior is unfortunate but cannot be changed.
The description on the web-site will be amended to reflect this.
