Description: The Plantation House has been lovingly restored based on its original plans, and actually rests on its original foundations. The 200-year-old trees which line the Bilenbi Avenue are untouched and are on the site's original site plans. The property is also home to a beautiful garden from which our chefs proudly source their fresh herbs and spices. Takamaka Bay, our fabulously Seychellois rum, came to life in 2001 and was inspired by the D'Offay family recipe. It is used both in La Plaine St. Andre's bar and kitchen. By day, the grounds of La Plaine provide a tranquil setting for a day away from the beach - our petanque court pays tribute to our French heritage, our garden surrounding the historic ruins is a treasure trove for the nature-lover in you and our distillery is open to be explored from Mondays to Fridays. When the sun sets, the ambience of our restaurant changes dramatically; enjoy an intimate meal in our private dining room or on our softly lit terrace or an Al Fresco dinner under the stars.

“Back in time...”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

Decided our last 4 hours in Mahe would be spent at La Plaine as people have called it.
From the arrival of the establishment to departure, greeted by '2 of 3 freres', you feel as though it's your own place...the staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and take turns doing the different jobs from the bar to serving. The drinks are amazing and the food...well, after the 400g pork chop I had yesterday, I am not having any other meat cuts for the rest of my life!!! We sat under the BIlembi Avenue covered by the fruit trees and although it sprinkled a few drops, we kept our spot!!! The team did a great job and we left about 4pm after playing Petanque and drawing some sceneries of the place from the picturesque Kaz Kreol to the ruins in the garden to the lovely grand trees in the garden!

They feature special theme nights on Wednesday and Saturday with a live band...fantastic menu for lunch and dinner and if you only want drinks, it's the place!

We'll be back! Thank you so much for a great day guys! Keep up the great work!

“One of best on the Seychelles”
Reviewed May 29, 2013 via mobile

We had just the intention to visit the destillery and after a walk on the Morne Blanc we were hungry and tried some different dishes. The food was superb, you get the local dishes served in very good quality AND taste!
Service was very nice and the setting: just look at the picture. When you are in Mahe this place is a MUST for foodlovers.

“Memorable night”
Reviewed May 24, 2013

The ambience of the restaurant evokes the historical Colonial period of the island, the live music was excellent, wine list fair and food: good and creative. I would highly recommend this experience if you are going to be staying near Victoria while in Seychelles

It has been a very pleasant surprise. The owner of our hotel suggested us to come here and we have been extremely satisfied. Good food, good Quality/price ratio. When we went there was live music. Service pleasant and quick. Go ahead!

“Excellent creol food”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

We went there for lunch followed by rhum tasting (half price when you had lunch). Lunch was excellent, nice fresh fruit juices, excellent fish. Service was maybe not too fast... but that's island style... The explanations about rhum is quite short, but gives a good first impression. We had a wonderful time and can recomment to go there.
