“One of the best resorts in mahe”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

Constance ephelia was a very good choice resort. The resort has an excellent beach which includes water sports, it has a lot of activities, spacious rooms and very friendly staff.
The only bad think was that everything extra was too much expensive.

We spent the second half of our honeymoon there one year ago. We had made reservations for a junior suite and on arrival (of course we were picked up from the airport) we received a voucher for two glasses of wine and were escorted to our room which was on the second floor overlooking partly an interior garden and one of the hotel's restaurants, Adam&Eve. The room was very beautifully decorated but we were absolutely disappointed by the location of the suite and the noise from the restaurant. We contacted the reception and next morning the staff moved us in another suite, ground floor and in front of the "lans lilet" beach, which is not suitable for swimming but perfect for walking around especially during the tide when you can actually walk right accross to the small island! Dont worry though, the other beach, north beach, is magical and complete with restaurant, beach bar and everything you need. The resort is huge, so huge guests move around in little shuttle cars, but you will not have any problem since service is very frequent and drivers extremely helpful, often getting out of their way to pick you up and drop you off. There are tons of things to do, indoor and outdoor activities (water sports, zip line, cooking lessons you name it) if thats what you re looking for. What we did try was the spa, which is huge and very lavish but we had to go three times before we could get in, as they told us it was always full. We didn't attempt an appointment for a treatment that was payable so i dont know what happens in this case. We stayed there for more than a week and having rented a car we rarely stayed in the resort, but to have our meals since we had half board. There are several restaurants, some of them very romantic, and a very wide range of cuisines. Make sure to understand what is included in your reservation, because things can get a bit pricey.
Room service was not at all adequate. At least two or three times our room had not been made, bathroom amenities were not refilled or replaced and every day we had to wake up very early in the morning while the staff was taking care of the rooms next to ours because of the noise and the door banging. We were very polite in asking them to keep it a bit quieter, but it was the same routine every day. Otherwise the staff was very kind and helpful, apart from the fact we were charged a crazy
Overall, although seychelles is an enchanting destination that compensated us more than enough, we were not happy with our resort choice, especially because it was our honeymoon and we wanted something special (exactly the case in another Constance resort in Mauritius).

Room Tip: If you cannot afford an upgraded room and book a junior suite make sure it faces the beach. It is mu...

Although this is a huge resort, it never feels crowded. It is spread over a large area surrounded by beautiful forests and mountains. the beaches are superb. There are 5 restaurants to choose from and the food was excellent and varied. The range of activities is great. Snorkelling, canoeing, hobie cats, tennis, squash, zip lining, rock climbing, sailing, and more. We stayed in a villa which was amazing. We had our own private pool and the villa also comes with bicycles which we loved. The villas are very well furnished and equipped with 2 TV's, coffee machines, music and free Wi-Fi. From the time we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and the staff could not do enough for us. the spa was one of the best we have ever experienced and the use of the spa is free until 2pm even if you have no treatments booked. A special mention to Veronique for all the special attention. We have visited many hotels on Mahe and this is by far the best we have stayed at. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be going back.

I have just returned tanned and relaxed from a week at the Constance Ephelia. Not cheap but I guess you have to pay for quality. I personally enjoyed the very quiet swimming pool and beach right next to my suite. The room was perfectly sufficient to my needs and was kept clean and tidy by the twice daily visit of the room staff. Food was of a reasonable standard in the restaurants I tried and service was good. The resort is spread over a large area and guests were expected to get around using the buggy service provided but I have to say that I found it pretty hit and miss. I seemed to spend a lot of time walking ! I managed to keep away from reception except for checking in and out but I did find things a bit disorganzed especially after requesting somebody to collect my luggage and waiting over 20 minutes for anyone to tun up. It was just as well that my limo to the airport was also late.

Room Tip: The junior suites are good value and very comfortable.

We're used to staying at a hotel just as a base to travel from, but the Constance Ephelia was so much more. Lots to do on the resort, which is well designed, compliments the natural environment and never felt crowded. Activities include canoes, walks, wildlife and lots more. The food was varied and excellent. The junior suite accommodation was spacious. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful resort and surroundings, could spend a week just on the resort without running out of things to do. Snorkelling on the north beach was a highlight.

Room Tip: There are a variety of day trips from the island and tour reps from 3 local companies are present at...

We stayed 5 days in this wonderful resort in the Seychelles. We had a villa and the service we received was 5 star!! The beaches are wonderful, the water is clear and the setting is amazing.

The villas with the private pool are just stunning and the staff really surprised us over and over again.. The food was great and the restaurant staff was attentive and friendly. A bottle of champagne complimentary at arrival, a nice farewell surprise as well. It was all amazing!

There were just two things, which bothered us:
Twice there was a short circuit in our villa, causing the breaker to open and the first time a part of the villa went black. The second time the whole villa went black. Such things can happen. I am just worried that the electrical works in this place are inferior and some money was saved on it.
The thing that bothered most is that if you pay over 1100€/day that the prices of drinks and snacks are reasonable. Well they aren't.... A sandwich of 15€, the wines are excessively prices and even the beers were overpriced. That is a bit unfortunate, because these things will be remembered by the guests.

We stayed for six nights at the Constance Ephelia in a junior suite. We were very impressed with our room, it was very clean and fresh, the bed was beyond comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed.

We were situated metres away from the pool near the Adam and Eve bar and restaurant on the South Side of the resort, however we spent most of our days on north beach. Despite many reviews complaining about the distance between both beaches we really did not find it much of a problem. It was at most a 15 minute stroll through the grounds and mangroves and we were passed by so many of the resorts buggys that we got a little tired telling the drivers we were happy to stretch our legs and walk!

Both beaches were simply the most stunning we have ever been to. The sea was warm, clear and very calm and there were plenty of very comfortable sun loungers to be had (we made our way to north beach around 11am every day and we were spoilt for choice of where to sit). My husband says the snorkelling was disappointing compared to other places we had been but we didn't do any of the day trips so maybe Mahe has more to offer than we saw.

We were worried about food and drink prices before going but we didn't find it too extortionate. Maybe we are used to the high prices you pay in London. We opted for half board and although we tried all the restaurants on site, we felt that the buffet option in Corossol was one of the better places to eat.

The food in fact is the only gripe we had with the Ephelia. We loved breakfast in Corossol and both the sushi lunch and fine dining evening in Cyann were absolutely top notch. However, whilst the dim sum served at lunch in Adam and Eve was good, the evening meals were disappointing and bland. Similarly, Helios wasn't a great Italian experience. If we were to return, we'd avoid Helios and Adam and Eve and only eat at Corossol, Seselwa (which wasn't too bad and part of the HB option) or Cyann (if budget allows).

Would we recommend the Ephelia? Definitely. We had a great holiday on the most beautiful beaches and in a fantastic room. But pick and choose the restaurant options carefully, and go expecting to pay the earth for drinks, and you might just be pleasantly surprised!
