Adams Basin Inn Bed & Breakfast

This is a beautiful, comfortable and welcoming inn, right on the Erie Canal. You couldn't get any closer.
From the entrance foyer to the breakfast room, sitting room and front porch, we just wanted to sit down and make ourselves at home. Innkeepers Pat and Dave are friendly and appear to treat all guests as special visitors in their home.
Our room was comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well. Breakfast was delicious and served with great style.
The location, about five minutes from Spencerport NY, worked well for us as we drove into town for ribs at the Texas BBQ Joint and enjoyed a big band concert by the canal on a warm summer Sunday evening. Would we go back? Definitely!

I stayed one night at the Adams Basin Inn with my dad during our bike tour of the Erie Canal. I can not say enough good things about this charming inn! The owners, Pat & Dave, are meant for this! ... friendly & extremely knowledgeable with history lessons here & there about the fascinating one time tavern situated right on the canal. The building is immaculate & interesting ... the breakfast was fresh & delicious ... the gardens are the most magnificent I have seen in a while. Although it was a short stay- I recommend this B&B whole heartedly. Treat yourself to this historical & relaxing escape.

This is a lovely small, 4 rooms, B&B. The innkeepers are warm and delightful to talk with. There is a great gas stove to read next to. The tavern and dining room are refinished from the actual 1800's and we had cookies and hot cider in the evenings. Breakfast was wonderful and they were very accommodating with my food allergies. We stayed in the Ryan room. The bedroom was good size. It did lack any dressers for clothes. The bathroom in our room was on the small side but for the excellent price it was fine. I look forward to staying in the Nichols room next trip. Each morning we walked on the canal path.It was a great getaway!!

Room Tip: The balcony off the Ryan room faces the canal and the street. The Nichols room has the largest bathr...

My wife and I went to Adams Basin Inn for our anniversary. There were several reasons why we selected Adams Basin. We both love to bicycle and kayak. The proximity to the Erie Canal provided us with easy access to both. Aside from enjoying the bike trail and canal, I have to say that after staying at numerous B&Bs, this has become our favorite. The room was spotless, the breakfasts were superb, and Pat and Dave (the owners) were absolutely fantastic. I guess the true test of whether you like a place or not is are you willing to go back and recommend it to a friend. We’ve already made our reservations for a return visit next August, and my wife’s sister will be going as well. Need I say more?

Pat and Dave were marvelous hosts. It was like spending time with old friends we hadn't seen in a while. Pat made reservations for us at Grandpa Sam's in Spencerport - another reason to return just to try something else on the menu. They also called a local bike shop to check on hours of operation, and we had this business complete a minor repair for us in time to get on the trail again the next morning. The breakfasts were marvelous and the conversations with the other guests were engaging. The Inn has a fascinating history, and the before and after pictures of the Inn were incredible!

We rode the Erie Canal trail from Lockport to Newark and back and this was our favorite spot. Right on the trail with a beautiful location. Cute little hamlet with no businesses but Dave and Pat will drive you into Spencerport for dinner (Texas BBQ-yum). After staying in 5 B&Bs - this was our favorite. The most welcoming, historical and best setting. We stayed in the Ryan room on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the canal.

We stayed in the Milliner Room at the Adams Basin Inn in late June during a bicycle trip down the Erie Canal tow path. What a wonderful time we had. Dave and Pat, the inn keepers were most hospitable. Every room in the inn is beautifully decorated with antiques and local artifacts.
Dave and Pat are wonderful cooks. The multiple course breakfast was served on different china sets each day and included lots of fresh fruit and herbs from their garden.
Both hosts have lots of tales about the history of the area and the house, complete with pictures and information about the rennovations on the house over the years.
We even had a chance to sit on the porch one afternoon with Dave watching the boats come down the canal.
We highly recommend this historic setting.
