We stayed at this quaint hotel for 2 nights. Loved the history of the building and its fantastic views of the Sea of Galilee. Perhaps the best thing about this hotel was the food. Definitely not kosher, but delicious. We had a great room with a nice view. The products provided in the room were L'Occitane, a nice treat after the cheap products offered in other hotels. Would most certainly recommend this hotel to others.

The Scots Hotel is very nice if you are in the old section. I didn't stay in the new part of the hotel which is further back and cheaper. A few things to be aware of: The sea view rooms in the old section are overlooking a large porch which is NOT private. The upshot is that you need to close your curtains at night, no sea view, or anyone can walk up to your window and look in. It is better to be on the second floor of the old buildings so that fewer people can look in. The front desk screwed up our reservation when a big shot with entourage decided to stay at the hotel and two of our rooms were given away. The manager said that it is too bad but the rooms were gone and it was our problem. The staff was for the most part nice but inept. Our reservations had been made one year in advance! I might go back to this hotel but I'd know that reservations don't mean much and it is one of the nicer hotels in Tiberius but a bit of a crap shoot.

Room Tip: Don't pay up for sea view rooms since none of the rooms really have it. The pictures are mislea...

Great hotel, stayed in one if the 16 original rooms from 120 years ago. The rooms are spaciouse. The service is great and the meals are extremely good. If you are an Israeli that needs a little taste of abroad without flying, this is it. P.s. not kosher

Every moment during our weekend stay was pure joy. The old buildings have amazing luxurious black lava stone rooms that are priced accordingly. We stayed in the newer 5 story building that had very comfortable rooms and was a tiny bit more affordable. So rob a bank before you visit. On the other hand, if you figure that all the open buffet meals are gourmet, and compare this to the other nearby hotels, there's no contest. The staff are super friendly and efficient. There is a don't-miss daily guided tour of the pristine historical grounds and visit to the on-site museum that culminates in a visit to the wine cellar stone vault and a refreshing wine tasting. The only challenge is the huge choice of fabulous food. Hint: taste only a tiny bit of each and you won't leave hungry, then you'll also better enjoy swimming in the pool and speed boating on the sea of Galilee. Shoot...I would love to go back there. Where's that bank?

Room Tip: The top (5th) floor rooms have 2 windows facing the Sea of Galilee for an inspiring glorious view. 4...

We recently stayed at the Scots Hotel and found the desk staff wonderful. We arrived from Jerusalem without guides and any arrangements for transfers to Tel Aviv. The staff at the desk explained about touring in the area, made valuable suggestions, and helped us with excellent guides. When we ran into a problem with a broken ATM at the bank across the street from the hotel one of the staff members walked to the bank with us to clarify the opening hours which were written in Hebrew. Additionally we enjoyed the hotel's lovely grounds and enjoyed sitting on the porch near our room which had a terrific view of the Galilee.

Room Tip: We stayed in an antique room which was enormous.

Come hungry..The breakfast buffet is the best in Israel unless you're Kosher.
The hotel itself is very nice.
The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable.
The biggest negative is you have to pay a small fee for really weak internet service that is really a pain to sign in to..The fitness center was also very nice but it costs extra..We were busy site seeing so we really did not take advantage of the nice facilities.
From what I saw, it's clearly the nicest hotel in the Tiberias area..

We spent a very enjoyable vacation at this hotel. Standards run high -- rooms, food, staff, facilities, are all wonderful. Smack in the city center yet very peaceful. A great place for a relaxing sojourn. Very highly recommended!
