“Nice hotel, good service”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

We stayed in the Scots Hotel in January. The room was nice and clean, and the breakfast buffet was good. Hotel is in a nice setting on a hill overlooking the water, lobby area is small but pristine. Beds were very comfortable and service was excellent.

Lovely building, and views on the lake, wonderful choice of breakfast, seated in a nice conservatory with ancient millstones; friendly staff.
The hotel nevertheless is very expensive compared to european hotels, but Israels hotels are very costly in any case; West bank, religious and politicians have to be paid from somewhere..

Newly renovated hotel with excellent design. We stayed in this hotel in a wine tasting weekend. The food in the restaurant is amazing, don't miss eating at the hotel. The hotel is located right in the center of the city and has its own beach across the main road

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the historical buildings

I have enjoyed this great hotel and recommend it to all. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. They are very clean and comfortable. Some of the rooms called antique have a view to the sea of Galilee. The gardens are well kept and the old buildings of the hotel with the history of the place leave you with a sense of mysterious. The restaurant is romantic and serves great delicious food with amazing various. A massage is highly recommended by the professional spa team. To summarise the visit i have enjoyed my stay very much and for sure i'll come back again.

Room Tip: rooms called antique have a view to the sea of Galilee. others called unique are in the centre of th...

I'll start from the bottom line I came with a big expectation but I was very disappointed.
At the evening my wife went to take a Massage, after a long day I decided to take a good bath, starting to fill the bath I noticed the water wasn't hot at all! Standing under the shower on a cold night with only the hot water tap is open and nothing, the water isn't even close the hot ! Nothing close to 37- 41 Degrees. When I take a good shower the room will start filling with Steams, unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
I couldn't take a bath, very frustrating.
I called the reception, they sent me the service man, he told that the water temperature is OK and this is the hotel standard. I asked to speak with the man in charge, no one spoke with me.
On the day I checked out I raised the issue, the reception manger told me that the water temperature is 50 Degrees. I told him that if it was true, I would suffer from burns but he wouldn't listen.
In a cheap crummy motel, one star hostel in Turkey the water are hotter…
As for the food, no big diversity and could be much better, the food is for sure not in the standard of a 5 star deluxe hotel in Israel
I would expect more after paying 370 $ per night.
Telling this story to my brother he told me that his friend had to Bats in his room at night…. So maybe for me I was lucky…

Room Tip: don't take the rooms close to the Elevator, unless you like Heels Noise.

An exceptional hotel in every respect. We upgraded to one of the suites overlooking the Sea of Galilee. The room was refined and impeccable. They gave us a bottle of champagne which was a nice touch and much appreciated. The restaurant serves amazing food. Our dinner was a feast. I can't believe how much food was brought to the table. Breakfast was served in the same dining room. It was one of the finest buffet breakfasts we had while in Israel. They even have a large orange squeezing machine the automatically squeezed fresh orange juice for you. The staff in the restaurant and hotel was always friendly and helpful. This place was worth the splurge.

Room Tip: upgrade to the suites for a wonderful view of the Sea.

This has always been my favorite hotel in Israel. It offers unique ambiance, great service and relaxing atmosphere. For Israelis this is like going abroad and for tourists it is something different and completely off the beaten track. Tiberius is not a great place to visit but the hotel is like a separate complex within the city and there is really no reason to go into Tiberius. Location is great for day trips to Golan Heights and Galilee. We have recommended this hotel to all our visitors from abroad and all have been very happy. Do not miss the new Lakeview spa and fitness center. Gorgeous building and design.

Room Tip: Antique rooms are well worth it- they are like a boutique hotel
