First and foremost - this is a great hotel for families with children of all ages. The adjacent water park is a big plus and great entertaintment for the children and adults. If staying over a weekend, be sure to enjoy it on Thursday and Friday because on Saturday it is packed.

Like the whole city of Tiberias, this hotel is stuck somewhere in the 80s with the level of service and attitude. Rooms might have a flat LCD screen and cool reading lights but the overall look of the rooms, corridors and public spaces shows this hotel is a bit tired and need a facelift.

Food quality is so-and-so. The Thursday night BBQ style dinner is a disaster - both in quality and variety. Friday night dinner is average. Breakfast is just below average for a hotel which decalres itself a 5 star (in Israel there is no formal rating - every hotel can decide on its own...).
One symbolic thing of the 80s? - on the breakfast table there are pots of boiling water. Want Coffee? "we have instant, grained instant and black". No espresso machine what-so-ever in the dining room, not even for extra charge...

Superior Hotel, right on beach on Sea of Galillee. Excellent rooms and views. Didn't try Spa, but facility appeared excellent. Beautiful pool and excellent dining. Boat trips available on Sea of Galillee. A bit far out from town, so you would need transportation to reach the commercial areas. However, very self contained.

Room Tip: Facing water!

Stayed for two nights with a group. Rooms were not very clean, and many are in need of renovation. The food was average, though the view was magnificent. The staff was not friendly. This hotel needs to be updated, and the staff members need to be trained to provide friendly service!

I've led many tours to Israel and have looked for a good hotel along the Sea of Galilee in Tiberias, Israel. This year, I chose the Gai Beach Hotel (again) because it's been the best option among mediocre choices based on the quality of the food, the service and the setting (all these usually have been very good). When our group arrived around 5:30 PM, two rooms were still dirty after we checked in with popcorn on the floor & bed, dirty wash cloths in the tub and hair in the sink. In addition, one room smelled like sewage. I asked for a partial refund for our disappointed and weary travelers, but didn't even receive the privilege of talking with the manager. Just call me disappointed...

This is certainly the best resort-style hotel on the Sea of Galilee. The hotels has very extensive and well maintained grounds. The pool is directly on the lake. And hotel guests receive free entry to the adjacent water park - a huge plus for families with kids.

The rooms are dated, but clean and adequate.

Breakfasts are good and so is the Friday evening Shabbat meal. The Thursday BBQ style dinner, however, was terrible.

The entertainment program, for adults and kids alike, was pretty good. There's a kids-oriented show first, followed by one for the adults. And they keep the kids occupied all day long if that's what you're looking for.

The hotel is located just to the south of central Tiberias. You don't "feel" Tiberias at all while there, and that's certainly a plus. It's self-contained and there's no reason to leave the resort if you're on a short holiday.

I noticed a group of Christian pilgrims from the USA staying at this hotel. For those sorts of groups, this would definitely be a very upscale base for touring, as compared to other hotels in the area geared more for that sort of incoming tourism.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the higher floor with a view of Lake Kinneret.
