“Nice Hotel on the Sea of Galilee”
Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for three nights and thought the hotel was quite good. The buffet breakfast is very diverse and pretty good. The service is very slow as we experienced in ALL Israeli hotels. This hotel has continuous turnover of tourist so there is very little reason to improve. The beds are so-so and a complete hotel renovation would be nice. Wifi is pricey and we did not use.

This hotel really exceeded my expectations in every aspect. Nice, clean, elegant, great food, service was excellent - helpful staff, etc. It was really good. Went with my wife and 2 kids.
It was an expensive stay but don't regret it.

We had been at this boutique hotel (only 100 rooms) under different management and wanted to return and check out this part of Israel after a really wet winter.
The Kinneret was beautiful, the staff welcoming and the hotel was quiet after a tumultuous Passover. My wife and I wanted a quiet couple of days just to chill out.
The Pros - quiet, well furnished public area, friendly and helpful staff, creative chef, heated outdoor pool
The Cons - rooms could be equipped a little better with larger beds and coffee maker, the pool opens at 9 AM! for those interested in starting the day with a swim before breakfast - not doable, checkout 11 AM!, between opening the pool first at 9 and check-out at 11, forget about getting a swim on checkout day. Conversely, besides having the earliest checkout, they have the latest check-in, at 3 PM! So you barely swim the day you check-out or the day you check-in.
The breakfast was a little meager compared to other 5 star deluxe hotels.
Despit the Cons, we did have a very restful weekend and the manager told us they are intent on seeing to the issues we raised.

Room Tip: Make sure to either take a corner room in the tower or one of the deluxe rooms with a porch that has...

This was my 5th time in Tiberias and 1st time in this hotel. The hotel is dated, like everything in Tiberias. It is a typical tourist hotel. Most of the staff don't act very excited to see another tour group unload. I led a 33 person tour group and we spent 3 nights here. The rooms and staff appear tired. The wonderful exception is the restaurant. The staff were mostly friendly and efficient and the food great. The buffets for breakfast and supper was smaller than most hotels, but of the best quality. It was, simply, the best hotel food we have ever had in Israel. A very nice lobby and outdoor deck overlooking the Sea of Galilee. I would return just for the food. No internet service except for pricy connection.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the north wing and you will get a better view.

We have been to Tiberias 4 times as leaders of a tour group. This is the first time the tour company chose this hotel and we were glad they did!

We found the food to be outstanding. It is a smaller buffet than the other hotels we have been in Israel but it had more quality.

The best view rooms are in the old building and NOT the tower. The morning views of the sunrise over the Sea of Galilee from these rooms is amazing.

The members of our group who were put in the Tower did not have as good a view. In fact one room had a terrible view of pipes or something. Anyways, the front desk was kind enough to change their room for them upon request.

There is a large terrace area where you can eat your breakfast and enjoy the scenery. You can also see the sea from the dining room. Bright and open.

Cons: Internet was at a high fee. Front desk person could have used a smile and more enthusiasm. Pretty blank.

Pros: Great location. Short walk to harbour outdoor shopping/eating area but far enough to be quiet.

Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: For sure try to get a room in the older section. NOT the newer tower. The views are the best in th...

Stayed for 2 nights last weekend. The hotel is located on the lake and from my room I had a wonderful view of the lake . The service is excellent and the staff are very helpful . Centrally located but on has a private beach , a heated swimming pool and free parking . the room was clean but basic. Great place to stay if you get a discount from regular price .

Room Tip: view to the lake is a must!!

I've stayed in many different hotels in Tiberias and, unfortunately, few measure up. If you're traveling Israel and leave Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, your choices for top hotels plunge dramatically. While the Rimonim Galei positions itself as better than the rest, it still falls short. The lobby spaces are nice but only because they overlook the Mediterranean Sea but the guest rooms are a dump - need new furniture, better bathrooms and overall renovation. If the hotel is full, you have to wait a long time for two very small elevators. Hampton Inns in America are a far, far better option.
