Basic but satisfactory rooms, clean and tidy but not with the best views. Meals very nice with a fair amount of variety. Some interesting décor in the large lounge area. Good WiFi but doesn't extend to rooms. En suites clean and well kitted out (with a bath!). Staff helpful and polite. All in all a nice hotel and nice stay.

we went to this hotel with a group hopping to spend a nice short weekend while getting to know the story of "Dona Gracia" the rich philanthropist who had a dream of Jewish land that is seeded in Tiberias.
If one considers to visit in a museum and get to know Dona Gracia's story the hotel is fine and the atmosphere is of the 16th century . but that's it.
As of calling this place "hotel" it is of it's right, Indian guest house is more likely.
Don't accept no explanations of the management on the previous reviews. they are falls. for example I read one review regarding the CRT TV that is promised to be replaced by LCD.
My room had CRT and I had to tuneup the stations (lucky that I'm a bit of a handyman).
this hotel is definitely not able to accommodate people at wintertime, no hot water and no heating is available neither in the room nor in the meeting rooms. some explanations were made regarding this situation as out of the cold weather and of some malfunction. the only malfunction was choosing this hotel. It is not accepted to have to stay in your room with a jumper and a stole.
We went home shortly after lunch, tired, cold and disappointed.

We sadly agreed not to come back here until the rooms and facilities are restored from the 16th century to the 21st.

We were at THE DONA GRACIA Hotel on September 2013 and it was all we wished for!
Basic, clean and spacious room with a nice bath and a view of the mountains.

We took long walks to the beach and we were as close as you can be to the city center.

We needed to rest and renew our energy - we chose the quiet environment and got the best staff looking for our well being and taking care of all our needs.

The food was good and we will be back for sure!

Thank you.

Room tip: ask for the 4th floor

We booked through a travel agent, paid 100$ a night.
For that price, we felt that we got good value for our money.

Interesting lobby, great location, clean rooms and nice staff.

Just a 2 minute walk down to the water, Dona Gracias provided us with a clean room and a pleasant stay.

Breakfast not up to par with Israeli standards.

As part of my work, I stay in a lot of hotels in Israel. I was not expecting a five star hotel but there is room for improvement. First the good: The hotel lobby is a museum and is as nice as any five star boutique hotel in Israel, really! The museum does a nice job relating not only Dona's life but also life for Spanish Jewry in the late 15'th early 16'th century. The hotel has free wi-fi which was at times difficult to connect to because of the large number of users but nonetheless it's there. The staff was overall very helpful and took care of any issues I had. Here's where there is room for improvement. First, the rooms and hallways are dated; carpets are stained, TV is small and not even a flat screen, and there are no room amenities. It would be nice if they had a pot to boil water for coffee, provide fitted sheets for the bed and upgrade the toiletries a bit. However, probably my biggest complaint would be that my room was not sufficiently cleaned. There were wrappers left in a corner of the room and it must have been months since furniture was moved for vacuuming. Now I don't go searching for dirt, but the furniture was not flush with the wall and you could see all the dirt on the carpet behind the furniture. The bathroom was also not properly cleaned at all. However, my obvious hint paid off and by the second night, all was well in the bathroom. On to breakfast- Breakfast was basic and fine for this level of hotel. My only complaint was during my five day stay, nothing at all changed. That's fine if you're a five star hotel serving 50 different breakfast items but it gets a bit boring when you are serving a basic breakfast. It wouldn't take much to change the style of eggs or cut up a different salad or even add some different fruits to the mix of offerings. Bottom Line- The hotel caters to youth groups and others on a budget... and you definitely can tell.
