We have just returned from an eight day break in this hotel and we were very pleased with our choice.
It was my husband's 60th birthday on the day we arrived and the staff had put a happy birthday notice in the room with a gift of wine and chocolates which we thought was a lovely gesture.
Our room was high up on the 11th floor and had a wonderful view over the Sea of Galilee and the promenade. We found the food to be of good quality and there was plenty of variety. All the staff were helpful and friendly and handled any enquiries willingly. In Tiberius English is not spoken as widely as it is in other parts of israel but we managed ok. We found the roads in Israel to be excellent in general but the signs in Tiberius are confusing and we needed a few days to learn the best routes out of town because we made a lot of mistakes early on as roads ran out of signs. The hotel is used by a lot of pilgrimage groups who stay for one or two nights before moving on elsewhere. This meant quite a lot of early rising from them and luggage movement noise most days but it is hardly the fault of the hotel, the tours have to leave early each day in order to pack so much sightseeing in. We learnt to go to breakfast at about 8 am when they had all driven off!
There is a charge for parking at the hotel but we didn't use their car park,we used the free one very close by. We could see our car there from our room and it was fine. This is a strictly non smoking hotel and there is no smoking in any public or private rooms. There is a patio area with ashtrays and people did use their balconies which was fine.
It was a shame the pool was not open but I suppose that it was only February and it is an outdoor pool. We were fortunate with the weather as it was hot and sunny most days .We only had one disturbed night from the bar below the hotel (mentioned by other reviewers.) All in all it was an excellent place to stay and we would certainly go there again.

Room Tip: get a room facing the Sea of Galilee with a balcony. Ours faced the old city wall and promenade which was great for boat and people watching. it also meant that our car was in view at all times.

Stayed for 1 night only (thankfully) in February, and the state and condition of the rooms are terrible. Wood was rotting in places, the bathroom looked tired and dated, and the bed was extremely narrow at 3 feet. As a woman it was all I could do not to fall over the edge of the bed, each time I turned. Short of sleeping on my back all night long, there was just no space to turn right or left. I can't imagine how a guy could manage.

The furniture was faded, the bell boy just dumped the bags on the floor, and left, leaving me to heave them up onto the luggage rack. Awful service.

The curtains looked dirty like they had been unwashed for a long time. My room overlloked the sea and pavilion where there was loud music and noise from the people past midnight.

Also, there were no international cable channels on the TV like CNN or BBC. Contend yourself watching hebrew movies, if you can understand the language.

    Will never ever return.

It's quite clear that the hotel needs a thorough overhaul. However, because it's a tourist hotel with a constant stream of tourists, maybe it can't bring itself to shut down a few floors at a time to start the overhaul, and lose the income stream. Bad decision. The situation will just deteriorate even more.

Very comfortable, service excellent, dining room staff very obliging - nothing too much trouble, food- very good with lots of choice. Excellent hotel for all ages. Amazing views from bedrooms, the Golan Heights, and best of all a very full Sea of Galilee.

Room Tip: Facing the sea rooms are beautiful

With the exception of a young woman named Limor, the front desk staff is grumpy, argumentative and clueless. Despite, having confirming emails from senior hotel management, the front desk staff could not and frankly would not provide the services previously promised in writing by management.

We stayed in the hotel for three nights and never had housekeeping provide towels or make the beds. We had to beg for the ordinary hotel services.

The restaurant was ok. The next time I'm in Tiberias, I'll sleep in the street before checking into this place.

Room Tip: During Shabbatt, (unless you suffer from insomnia) avoid any room facing the disco along the promenade the noise will keep you up until 2AM

I have led numerous tours to Israel and stayed at this hotel many times. As a tour leader, it is good to know the dependability of this hotel. The staff is great! They are friendly, courteous, and professional and I know that if any problems arise, they will take care of my people. Rooms are always clean. The food is excellent and the dining room staff are great! The location, immediately on the Lake of Galilee, with the promenade and shops to visit, and the view of the Lake, make this hotel a great, choice. This hotel remains my first choice when I stay in Tiberias, Israel.
