I remember staying here as an SPG member a few years back and I had a much nicer room on a higher floor. Now that they aren't part of Starwood I was given a simple room on third floor. The AC in the hallways wasn't great. Room was fine though...

If you aren't picky with hotels this will be fine.. If you are a perfectionist and hotel savvy and picky, this probably won't cut it!

Breakfast was very nice though...

I have stayed in the Leonardo since it was a Sheraton and it's still one of the best properties in the area. Our tour groups consistently rave about the buffet and the service in the dining room. The hotel rooms have had a fairly recent remodel and refresh and I always enjoy staying here. My only complaint is the small number of elevators, but I've found a way around that!

I only had 1 night here per the usual jewish organized tours that seem to rush through the northern part of Israel. Would have been nice to explore the area more but no complaints with this hotel.

Pluses:
Nice room in terms of size and furnishings
Great view from balcony
Decent breakfast buffet selection though would be nice if they had a terrace outside
Close to the boardwalk promenade

Cons:
No free internet

A great & well organised welcome.A drink to cool us in the lobby while our luggage was being delivered to our rooms after our journey from airport. Our room was light & airy with a great view over the Sea of Galilee.Large pool with plenty of sun loungers & terrace overlooking the pool, perfect for those after dinner cocktails where some evenings we were entertained with a spectacular light show of the Pharaohs,Queens,Pyramids etc! Nice walk along the sea front with some lively entertainment at night for those who want it, or just a quiet walk to enjoy the views across the sea! Tennis courts for the more energetic,a Spa for those who want to relax!
Restaurant could not be faulted and the staff everywhere so polite & helpful. For families & couples, large or small groups,a delightful stay! Hope to go back one day!

Room Tip: Maybe a little noisier in front rooms due to night entertainment for those with young children!

I would like to reccomend this hotel because I was well impressed by the maintenance standard over all. It is clean and nothing looks not taken cared off, so you will have a good sensation.
The staff is efficient and ready to help.
I did not like the fact that they charge you NIS 30 per day to enter the spa. This is a problem if you want to attend the gym which is a part of the spa complex. I stayed for 3 nights only, so I didn't mind, but with a longer stay this should be taken into consideration.

Room Tip: I think that a higher floor is better, because the noise from the pool could be quite loud.

I use Trip Advisor all the time and count on the reviews of fellow travelers. I was disappointed to find Leonardo Plaza Hotel #2 on here in Tiberius. We've stayed here two years in a row on tours. This hotel is trying to be new and modern but there are still lots of old shabby things going on. The carpet, elevators, etc. The worst part is that our bathroom smelled moldy like dirty wet rag which permeated through our room. We had to open the sliding class doors to air it out. There was mold on our shower curtain and in our tub. Paint peeling and cob webs. Also, our heat was out of control HOT and maintenance could not fix it. So, we slept with the sliding glass doors to the outside open, in the winter. The view of the Sea of Galilee is very nice. The rooms are standard American size (Large for Israel standards). The furniture was modern. The carpet seemed dirty. The noise from the bar scene outside subsided by 11PM in February. The food was plentiful but pretty much the same choices every day.

Room Tip: Higher level rooms have better views

For the third year, I have led a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and the past two trips we have stayed at the Leonardo Plaza Hotel. Upon arrival, the front desk staff are welcoming and hospitable and after a long journey, it is nice to feel like we have come "home."

The staff are always eager to provide whatever service is necessary. Our pilgrims love the food, the dining room staff, the view, the light show and the location. The rooms are comfortable and well attended - clean and attractive.

In the future, I will stay again at this hotel. It was the best 3 day-stay during our 10 day tour.
