“Could be a lot better”

Rooms are spacious and offers great views from the window. Good price.
However, the hotel has a "beach" but you can't even touch the water of the lake (Sea of Galilee). I've asked to the employee at the beach front just to be allowed to touch the water and he rudely just answered no. Breakfast could be better (coffee was undrinkable).

The positives are they are in a good location next to the lake/sea of Galilee, the sheets were white and clean. The standard shampoo, shower gell and soap are to be found in the bathroom. Even though the staff did not understand us, they were friendly.

I booked a 4* star hotel but received a 2*. The carpets in the hallways are dirty and old. The rooms do not not look like the photos on their web page - I guess these photos were taken years ago. The bath was brown and I only took showers. The top it off most of the group that stayed at the hotel had food poisining the next day.

I even went to ask reception whether I was in the right hotel because the rating does not seem correct.

The staff do not speak proper english and when asking for milk you might even receive a camel if you do not explain yourself properly.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel.

Firstly I need to clarify why I've only rated this hotel as average. I was staying here as a part of a tour group and believe me I was very happy to be at the Leonardo when compared to the place where we stayed in the Galilee area last year. However it doesn't rate as a 'very good' when compared to the hotels where we as a family usually choose to stay.
There are some very positive aspects to this hotel. The view from the Lake view rooms is amazing and although there is no balcony the windows slide open wide which makes you feel so close to the lake. The rooms are of a good size as is the bathroom. They're certainly not luxurious but they were nice enough and as I've mentioned already a huge step up from our last years experience. The lounge area was set out nicely and was a good place to catch up with friends after a big day sight seeing. Meals were included as part of the tour and the food and service was great.
The service we experienced from the front desk was also very good.
The pool area was located across the road right next to the lake and was easily accessible from hotel via a walkway over the road. The pool was large and the area around it spacious and well set out. It's just a shame that we didn't get to use it as it closed early and opened late.
So what's wrong? Well the lifts for a start are unreliable. We were advised by someone who knows the hotel to use the stairs if we were in a hurry. The staff had to coordinate collection times for bags very carefully to ensure that bags got to the lobby on time if there was more than one tour bus leaving on the same day. Secondly the hotel is old and is overdue for a major renovation. The cleanliness of the room was fine but the hallways were not good in places and the stairwells (which we used often) were pretty rough.
Over all the Leonardo worked well for us a short stay tour hotel but I'd be looking for a higher standard of accommodation for a longer stay.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a view of the lake. Why stay next to a beautiful lake to look out over...

We had a wonderful vacation on July 2013. The staff is always around us, the
visitors, looking for how to give us the best experience.
We have been there 4 magic days, and 3 wonderful nights.
Even though, they were hundreds of other guests, we were feeling special during the whole vacation.
Thank You LEONARDO HOTEL :)

This is a hotel the caters to big tour groups. This hotel is bare bone and dirty! There is sporadic wifi in the lobby area only. We asked for a triple and when they opened the futon dust flew all over the already filthy room. This is the type of hotel that you want to walk around with flip flops because the 20 plus old carpet is so filthy. I asked the front desk to have someone and wipe down the room and it had more dust afterwards. The sheets are soiled, the towels look like they were purchased when the hotel was built. The soap and shampoo are such poor quality they don't even clean your hair. And to top it off they are enormously expensive and completely overpriced. We wanted to leave one day early because it was so bad, but they would not refund or give us credit. Totally poor service on fronts! Never again Leonardo!

Room Tip: We we in 1609 that has view of parking lot and abandoned building, partial view to sea.

Location is great, staff is very friendly breakfast was lousy, room was nice size and very comfortable. We had a very helpful young lady greet us in the lobby and provide refreshments when we arrived.

Room Tip: Get a higher room for better view.

This is a fairly well maintained older hotel that barely makes a four star rating. It has no internet or facial tissues available in the room. An inconvenient fact is that internet is only available in the lobby. What it does have going for it is a nice fresh water pool and a beach (somewhat rocky) on the lake, both with friendly life guards.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the lake.
