“Good food, even better location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2014

Enjoyed a very pleasant lunch here along the Sea of Galilee. We were the only people in the restaurant, which at first made us nervous, but we had no need to worry. The food was fresh and very good. The real gem of this place is the location though--right on the seaside. You can't beat this view! The proprietor took what was left over of our pita after the meal outside and fed it to the seagulls, which provided for dinner and a "show." Very fun to watch. Would visit here again.

“Sea of Galilee is the star”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2014

A highlight of any visit to Tiberias is to sit by the edge of the Sea of Galilee and enjoy a relaxed al fresco meal. The best place to enjoy this experience is at the Galei Gil restaurant on the waterfront very near the Scots Hotel. Jose Cohen has been running the restaurant for more than forty years and Habib, one of the waiters, told me this was his 42nd year! Choose Buri, a fish with fewer bones than the more usual "St. Peter's" fish and add some traditional salads and a bottle of chilled wine for a lunch to remember.

“Fresh salads and fish right on the lake”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

We enjoyed a warm welcome and attentive (maybe even a bit too attentive) service when we came here for lunch. My companions had only an hour's break from an organzed tour, but the waiter made sure everything came out on time. The salads served as an appetizer are the same as those in many such places but especially fresh and so plentiful you might not need anything else. The fish, some of it from the Sea of Galilee, is served either grilled or fried. We chose 3 different kinds and everyone was pleased. We did't have time for dessert but we really didn't need it. The restaurant is right on the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) and there are tables inside and out.

“Will not come more”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

Service was very bad, all the food we must call them two times to take for us, even at the end when we want to pay and we asked two times again for the bill! The resturant was not so much guest and have 2 waiters only!!

“Delicious!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013 via mobile

We visited Galei Gil on a Friday night (one of the few restaurants open in the Tiberias area on the Sabbath) and had a wonderful dinner. My kebab was juicy and flavorful and my husband loved the St Peter's fish - yeah, it's a tourist thing, but it was really good! Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I'd give it 4.5 stars if allowed - the half star is for the decor, which is a bit dated.
