Brilliant meal. Breakfasts are out of this world. We had dinner there each of the three nights we stayed there and had a different dish each night. They were all so lovely as lovingly prepared by the chef with fresh ingredients.

After staying three times at the Arbel Guest House, we cannot wait to taste Israel's wonderful cooking. He is an incredible chef! He prepares lamb that just melts in your mouth! It is all wonderful! (Even if I had to walk miles to get there, and we did hike the Jesus Trail, I would not miss having breakfast and dinner at Israel's Kitchen! And...Sara, what a genuine lady, that gives a warm welcome of hospitality!

Hands down, without doubt, the best meal our party of three had in 16 days in Israel. It may be slightly out of the way if you are not staying at Arbel Guest House, but if you are staying in Tiberias and have a car it is well worth the 15 min drive there.

The restaurant is quiet, cosy and intimate, with furnishings that make you feel like you are in someone's home, which is very pleasant. As for the food, it is simple, hearty fare such as grilled St Peter's fish and veal casserole, in generous portions. What impressed us most was that every single component of each dish was excellent - for instance, the veal casserole contained about 7 or 8 different vegetables, and each one of those was, in terms of taste and texture, cooked to perfection. Even the side salads that accompanied the fish were delicious; it is the first time we have seen such attention to detail. Oh, and the homemade bread - it is no exaggeration to say that it was unbelievably good. Incredibly flavourful, so much so that we ate most of it without any spreads or sauces; and quite how they managed to juxtapose such a crisp crusty outside with a soft moist inside, we do not know.

Everything is fresh, everything is homemade (e.g. the sorbets and limoncello), and the husband-and-wife team (who seem to run the place all by themselves without any assistance) are absolute sweethearts. And not expensive either, for the quality (if memory serves, 85 shekels for the fish, 110 shekels for the veal casserole), especially since, in Israel, you often pay the same, or even more, for vastly inferior food. Cannot recommend it more.

My husband and I stayed at the Arbel Guest House one night as part of the Jesus Trail and Israel's Kitchen is where we had dinner and breakfast. The food was a very tasty variety of local dishes and fresh fruits and vegetables. The portions were perfect after hiking 10 miles! We had a very rich and delicious soup with our dinner of baked chicken and rice. Dinner also included a fresh salad, bread, and olives. For breakfast we had fresh-squeezed fruit juice, coffee, yogurt, bread, cheese, fruit, and baked eggs in a delicious tomato sauce. It was all good and plentiful! This is a beautiful place to eat. The service was great. Would definitely eat there again!
