“Lovely building and position...shame about the service!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013

I took a pilgrimage group for 3 nights, following 6 nights at the Star Hotel in Bethlehem where the service was first class. The rooms were lovely, as was the lobby and dining room. We were, however very disappointed in the service...or lack of!!! I was the group leader, organiser, and asked for wake up calls on each of our 3 mornings there, and we didn't get them. I had to ring and tell reception that I had no call, so they could ring the group...late! I came back early on Wednesday so the group could have a swim in the lovely pool, but was told it was closed, ' for chlorination' so we never got into it as it didn't open until 10am and we were out by then. The food in the dining room did not look very appetising, and I didn't really enjoy the meals I had, though some of the group were ok about the food, others said the food was much nicer at the STAR. The beds were made nicely and towels replaced daily, but I don't think there was much vacuuming of carpets as there were bits on the floor which did not get cleaned.I felt that the Star hotel in Bethlehem was a pilgrims hotel, but the Bali is a commercial hotel and not ideal for pilgrims.

Room Tip: I didn't use Spa or room service. My lovely room faced the sea of Galilee, 256/10. I watched the...

We spent a family weekend at the hotel. The position of the hotel is unique in the sense that it is out of downtown and on the high point of the slopes facing the sea of Galilee. If you are looking for a quiet place without the noise of any downtown activities this is no doubt a very good place to be.The view is just magnificant. The hotel has been refurbished but the rooms are pretty basic but clean and spacious.Plenty of grounds for kids and families to enjoy. Within walking distance to the beautiful Switzerland Park which is great for a nice walk as well as to enjohy many view points of the sea of Galilee.Service and quality of food was pretty good.

Room Tip: Most rooms on the ground floor have access to the garden. Facing East to the sea provides a lovely v...

Stayed in this hotel which is so close to the Sea of Galilee and easily accessible to all the pilgrimage site where Jesus done his apostolic works on his time more specifically in this area including tremendous miracles happens all around here. Best location ever if you are staying in this hotel with the magnificent view and a swimming pool. The room is always clean and spotless well done! to the housekeeping staff. Wifi is only available in the lobby. The staff is pleasant and helpful with any queries. The breakfast is terribly massive same as with the dinner , with so much food to choose from, starting from all kind of salads and all variety of meats and fish, from hot and cold cuts you named it and all is really delicious....well done to staff who really keep the standard high. All in all excellent hotel and highly recommended! Best exeprience ever.

Room Tip: room that is over looking to the Sea of Galilee!!!

I enjoyed this hotel because the atmosphere is quiet, located on the hill, but cool, the scenery is good, just need to move a few yards out of the lobby, and crossed the deserted streets which we can see a very beautiful lake of Tiberias, where we could get up early in the morning before the hour 06'00, then we can take pictures with the background of a very beautiful sunrise.

In a very hot summer day our big group (50 people) arrived at the Bali Hotel, after a very busy day visiting Israel. The rooms were allocated very efficiently and we were able to enjoy the nice and spacious rooms (with the very needed AC and small fridge). We stayed only for one night, but we enjoyed very much our stay. The rooms were very clean, recently renovated and the restaurant provided a quite nice dinner and continental breakfast.
For our group it was not very important, but I suppose if you are coming to Tiberias for the sea you would be interested to know that the actual shore is quite far from the Hotel. The Hotel has a very nice view over the shore though. And I did not check, but they might provide transportation to the beach (I also saw some public transportation nearby).

We were invited to the Bali Hotel for a conference, so we did not choose this hotel. That being said, the hotel was newly rennovated, clean, spacious, with very pleasant and user-friendly grounds and facilities.

** Rooms: The rooms were comfortable. Newly rennovated with parqeut flooring. Small but new bathroom. We were 2 adults + 2 children + 1 baby in one room and were comfortable with our 2 beds, pull-out sofa, and foldable crib. No in-room safe.

Our ground-floor room had a spacious porch that opened up onto a lush green lawn; great for the kids to blow off some steam while we were getting ready in the morning.

** Other facilities: The hotel has a nice pool and a small workout room, sauna, and jacuzzi in the health spa. We could use these facilities free of charge, but I don't know if that is standard or because of our association with the conference we were attending.

There is free WiFi in the hotel lobby.

The food was fine -- standard Israeli hotel fare, decent quality. The dining area was large and spacious and comfortable. We were there over Shabat and the Friday night dinner was served by a polite waitstaff. Other meals were buffet-style. Some of the baby high chairs were a little grungy (a pet peeve of mine).

** Location: One thing important to note is that unlike many Tiberias hotels, the Bali is not located on the shores of the Kinneret; it is up in the Tiberia Ilit neighborhood, perched high on a plateau *overlooking* the Kinneret. Great views, but there is nothing in the immediate neighborhood of interest; it is entirely residential. It is quiet, though. If you stay here, plan to drive to all attractions, as there is nothing with walking distance. There is an outdoor parking lot for hotel guests.

** Service: The staff were helpful and polite (with the glaring exception of one rather curt desk clerk: We could not connect to the hotel's WiFi and she told us "that's your problem" (!)).

Overall, a good choice for those who want a quiet place with a lovely view of the Kinneret.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have porches which spill out onto grassy lawns. For higher floors, choose one wi...
