“Stunning view, even with Canadians”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

I had spent the last three days hiking the Jesus Trail, leaving Arbel Village that morning and hiking up about a mile to the park, where I received a helpful map. The view is simply stunning, even with the hazy weather, even with three tour groups crowded around. Hiked down the cliff, much appreciating the hand- and foot-holds in some places, though most of the descent was quite gentle. I was a little disturbed by the group of foul-mouthed Canadian teens that I mixed in with for a bit, but kids will be kids. The old fortifications in the cliff-face caves are fascinating; the views continue to be wonderful all the way down.

“What A View”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

Make sure that it is a clear day. If it is clear, this is an unbeatable view of the beautiful Sea of Galilee. Go in the afternoon when the sun is best.

“What a view!”
Reviewed June 16, 2014

Really get a great perspective of the area. From atop this mountain, one can see the Via Maris, the modern roadway that replaced the road from ancient Egypt to Mesopotamia. The Sea of Galilee is also a prominent feature of the landscape from this viewpoint.

“Great Hikes, Amazing Views!”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

There are several hike paths you can take. We took the path that starts at the top lookout point and descends down and around the side of the cliff. You pass by cave dwellings and a cave fortress along the way. We even saw cows inside one of the caves! There are wonderful views the whole trail and it is easy to stay on. At the fortress, you can decide weather to take the longer hike or continue along the side and back up. You ascend steeply up to get back to the parking area but there are metal holds in the side of the cliff and we negotiated the climb no problem and we are of average fitness level. Groups of school children did it too. Watch the weather and choose your day wisely for the best experience. Bring sunscreen, a hat and plenty of water. It was a true highlight of our time in the Galilee area.

“Amazing View”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

I have hiked up and down Arbel Mountain 3 times, in 2007, 2009, and 2014. An amazing view each time. Easiest to climb (or drive) up from Arbel Village in the South, with a difficult climb/decent from the Northern side. It is technically a national park and is closed at night and on holidays. Amazing views!
