“Needs some work”
Reviewed June 15, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The apartment is, indeed, centrally located and very quaint. Marla is a very kind, considerate and helpful property manager. The price, for Safed, is reasonable. On the other hand, we were expecting, from the photos, a well-kept apartment in a well-kept area. To reach the apartment from either above (Jerusalem Street) or below (Arlozorov, where there actually is parking) means negotiating at least 50 stairs outside the building, some of which are just ugly and others of which are actually dangerous. The photos of the apartment must be at least two years old and the ceiling is peeling and in the winter we suspect you would feel the mold. The water pressure is good and there is lots of hot water, but the fixtures need work. In sum, if you are prepared for these shortcomings, it may still be a worthwhile place to stay for the price, but it would have been better to know what we were actually getting.

Please understand most palaces in the Old City are in need of repair since the properties in the Old City are over 400 years old. If the guest wants a perfect place to stay, there a plenty of places located outside the old city about 30 minutes away that charge 3 times what the guest paid.

We wanted to experience what it would be like to live in Sefat, We eventually enjoyed the experience of either walking down 60 steps to artist quarters and old city or walking up 4 flights to the shopping area.
We had an awesome view and the room pictured actually was that way... the same duvet cover and all. It was an adventure and not always luxurious but it was real, Marla the (I guess) property manager was terrific and very sweet and helpful. It would have been impossible to find it without her. The place had some quirks like no doors on the two bedrooms (okay except we had our 19 year old with us) and a sticky bathroom door and a noisy neighbor doing construction one evening but it was all adding to the character of Sefat.
