The city is historic, interesting, filled with energy and art. There is much to see and feel here. It was very helpful to have a tour guide.

The old city of Saved is very charming with beautifully paved alleyways accentuated with lovely blue features and colours. It is a great place to explore and buy souvenirs. A must see upon visiting Safed

We wandered the streets on foot. We saw the stores, galleries, eateries and synagogues. It's a lot of walking and many steps. Expect to get lost. Try to go when it's not crowded. A heavily touristed area. One hears enough English. Take as long as you want- be prepared to exert yourself walking- wear confortable shoes.

Wander theses streets day or night. You will see the very religious living and eating among artists young and old. It's a beautiful and peaceful city.

I had not been here for over 20 years, and a lot has changed. It's a very mystical place. All the old shuls (synagogues), and burial places of famous ancient rabbi's make this a spiritual and mystical experience. One comes face-to-face with history when here. The winding roads and alleyways of the Old City are enchanting. The main street of the Old City is crammed with little art shops and tourist traps and seems to have taken over this charming road, and as such takes away from the Tzfat experience. If you can get past the tourists and art shops then you'll have a wonderful time here. Small children will get bored very easily as there isn't much for them to do here. Teens will find it interesting and may want to explore on their own.
