Cost: We paid $122 CAD / night (double occupancy). For this price, the room and hotel were outstanding.

HUGE rooms - we stayed in a garden view walk out room with a king bed- it was beautiful. Cool fusion of clean modern furnishings with beautiful old world architecture. The room was made to feel even bigger by the really neat vaulted cathedral style ceiling. The room had an outdoor entrance from the garden which provided a spectacular view of the valley beyond the town.

All the amenities expected of a large hotel were present: hair dryer, kettle, mini fridge, bath robes, flat screen TV (the Fridge was hidden inside a credenza - made for a good laugh when we couldn't find it).

Location is perfect - 5 minutes (left turn out of the hotels front door) from the Artists' Colony shops and caffe's.

Parking was available for no cost in front of the hotel on a first come first serve basis.

Wifi was available for an additional fee.

Spa prices looked very reasonable, although we did not treat ourselves this time (a 60 min massage listed for 120NIS or around $30 CAD).

Have to agree with some of the other reviews about the staff not being exceptionally friendly however they were by no means over the top rude. For a more personal touch I preferred our stay at the Artists' Colony Inn one block over on the same road. Overall, for the 122 CAD / night price - the Ruth was a great choice.

located in the artist colony, overlooking a beautiful and 10 minutes walk from the town's boardwalk. nice building, large rooms some of them with balconies, clean, coffee facilities in the room, large Israeli buffet breakfast (average quality).
notice: there is no dinner in the hotel so you need to arrange a dinner for yourself, i do not recommend any of the restaurants in the city so get organized where to have dinner (Bat-Yaar or one of the restaurants in Rosh-Pina). there is a spa and many spatreatments but i didnt try any.
downside: internet is not free and you need to walk outside the main building for some of the rooms. the prices are really good so all in all its very good.

The hotel is clean and well located right in the old city of Safed. The new hotel wing is a beautifully renovated building. Rooms are large and comfortable. Breakfast is a typically Israeli buffet: cheese, eggs, veggie’s, fruits, salads, smoked fish, cereals and coffee.
We would strongly recommend it.

The good: wonderful renovated building, lovely rooms, magnificent views, right in the old city.

The bad: surly staff that seemed to be annoyed and bothered that they had to put down their iPhones to serve you. Average breakfast by Israeli standards. No restaurant open at night with closest good restaurant a 15 minute walk. Bar was closed both evenings we were there due to a "problem with the lights" - most likely no one to unlock the doors and open up.

This hotel is supposedly THE place to stay in Safed and would have been with better service and staff.

A very good hotel at the heart of safed.

Walking distance to the artists quarter.

The food is quite good, could be perfect with little improvements.

The service is lovely.

The room is well equipped and though the rooms are a bit old, they are well maintained.

lovely view from the porches.

would stay again.

Room Tip: Perhaps the best in safed.
