We arrive in Safed after traveling in Israel and having all positive experiences. The receptionist was the most unfriendly and hostile person I've ever experienced at a hotel. Then we had to wait about a half an hour for the room to be ready when we were already about an hour after the time when we could supposedly check in. Then we were given the wrong room which was immediately changed but it was not a good introduction. The room was not very clean.- the doors to balcony were dirty. the food however was delicious and it was very quiet. It was the first place in Israel that we had to pay for the internet.
Safed is wonderful once you get to know it but I would establish some contacts and read up first.More
