“amazing stay!!”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

My husband and I were in Israel for 12 days, and went to tzfat for two nights.
We stayed in the smaller of the two guesthouses, which was neat and clean, and spacious enough for the any couple to stay in. It had a beautiful and authentic feel to it. Evan and Joy were so hospitable, helpful and happy to help if we had any questions. Joy even made me amazing gluten free muffins for breakfast when I mentioned I can't eat wheat products. There is a private little courtyard with a table to sit outside and have breakfast. My only regret is that had I realized how much I would love being there, I would have stayed longer!!! Tzfat is a beautiful place to visit, and this B&B made the stay even better. I would definitely stay here again when I make it back to Israel.

Evan and Joy are wonderful hosts of this beautifully charming bed and breakfast. Beautiful and immaculate rooms that perfectly capture ancient Safed. Going above and beyond in nearly every detail - they make you feel immediately welcome like family. Highly recommended!!!

Joy and Evan have done a magnificent job perfectly restoring this architectural masterpiece in the heart of Tzfat. Every detail is perfect, and the style is magnificent and matches the feel and spirituality of Tzfat. As people, Joy and Evan are truly wonderful in how they have considered every detail, and how they take care of you while you are there. A truly great experience, and I will most certainly go back. Thank you! Michael

Room Tip: Both rooms are great. The suite is, of course, bigger, with a bigger and more elaborate bathroom an...

My husband and I stayed for one night during a 10 day trip throughout Israel. Joy and Evan were very hospitable and helpful, providing suggestions for our tour as well as places to visit and eat. the original historic, remodeled cottage sits in a quiet courtyard via an alley, adjacent to the owner's home and has the ambiance of Tzfat - stone walls, arches, Tzfat blue decor. Everything was immaculate, very comfy bed, plenty of towels and supplies. There was milk, juice, eggs and a pastry waiting for us when we arrived. The location was perfect for walking through the old city, shops, restaurants and artist quarter. Evan recommended a great restaurant Haari 8, which was one of the best meals we enjoyed during our trip. Wish we could have stayed another night! We will definitely return to magical Tzfat and this lovely place. Thank you Joy and Evan.

Room Tip: Call Joy or Evan before you arrive, and be sure you have specific directions printed out. GPS was n...

We spent a relaxing weekend in the smaller guestroom. The domed stone room and small en-suite are clean, beautifully decorated and full of character. After looking around for reasonably priced accommodation in the area, we were so pleased to find this guesthouse. Joy and Evan understand what their guests want and provide many small touches to make the stay even better: plenty of towels, toiletries in the bathroom, plenty of tea and coffee, cake laid out on arrival. We brought our own food with us for the weekend (there is a kitchenette with fridge, hot plate and kettle) but when we walked into the courtyard and smelled the baking, we regretted not having ordered Joy's food. It's a perfect location for seeing Israel's beautiful north. Don't miss out on the wineries located just about 30 minutes away at Dalton.

My husband and I stayed in the larger of the two guesthouses. It had two rooms; one which was the living/dining/kitchen area, the other the bedroom. Both rooms had beautiful high domes and all stone walls. they had an authentic "ancient" feel to them that added so much to our tzfat experience. The owners were unbelievably helpful and friendly. They set up the room for Shabbos while we were out touring. We had everything we needed from timers, urn, and all the table setting details. The rooms were gorgeous and well heated. We were sorry that we were only able to spend the two nights - and plan to go back in the future. The location was amazing, in the old city and close walking distance to everything we needed for Shabbos. The owner even recommended which shuls to go to and supplied a map and details of how to get where. This is a wonderful place for a religious couple (or family) to go to for Shabbos. All our needs were met and more. there was a real comfort zone in knowing that the owners were knowledgable and so helpful and kind. The location was great and the ambience amazing. i would recommend this to everyone going to Tzfat and looking for a real "Tzfat" experience.

Stayed here over Christmas with my son while touring the north. This was a terrific place. We stayed in the separate guesthouse cottage next to the main house which had a large living room and kitchen and a separate bedroom with two beds, also very large with a domed ceiling and hand picked furniture from the artists in the region, also complete with breakfast food and a friendly house cat in the courtyard, all down a quaint alley near the entrance to the town and just a few blocks from the town hall and parking lot which is a perfect place to leave the car. Joy and Evan Israel were a ....joy....Americans transplanted into a pretty strict town from a religious point of view but very dedicated, different, and amazingly open and friendly, inviting us into their house for a guitar jam session which was one of the highlights of the trip. Also a great jumping off spot for the Golan and the surrounding area. Don't miss it if you are in the area. You will love it and the hosts.
