“Lovely Place to Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2010

When we arrived we were warmly greeted and throughout our stay we were well cared for by everyone here. Breakfast and dinner were superb. Rooms have great character and are very comfortable. We would like to stay here again if we are fortunate enough to return to Israel.

This small bed and breakfast has it all -- unique rooms, comfortable beds, wonderful food and wine, good views from the restaurant, and attentive and friendly staff. We absolutely would stay there again.

The rooms are fascinating - some may say 'quirky' because the bath is in the living room - but this is really a smart and fun b&b. (Don't worry - there's a separate bathroom with shower). As the other reviewers have noted, the building goes back more than a century but it is modern and cool. The restaurant is great, the view wonderful, the location perfect for exploring the north and going up the Galil to the Golan. This hotel is comfortable and beautiful, not conventional.

A golden pot at the end of the rainbow - a delight to stay and eat in this B&B in northern Israel. Spotless, excellent rooms, fantastic staff, great food, and a terrace that should be the envy of every hotel - looking out at the Hula Valley down below, across to the Golan Heights beyond.

A family endeaver, a truly rare find of excellent service and value.

If ever in the area again, our first choice would be Pina Barosh!

My family has stayed at Pina Barosh several times over the years - this family owned and run business provides an amazing experience. The rooms are beautiful and unique - lots of attention to every detail. The food is fresh and AMAZING. The proprieters will pay attention to your every need and are full of great information about local activities. The vista from the yard is spectacular. Staying at Pina Barosh is a wonderful escape from some of the faster paced areas of Israel - relaxed and low key. It will really give you a different sense of the country and its people than staying only in the cities. I can't praise this place enough!

This B&B is an excellent find. It is located in a sprawling, multi-level stone house that is over 100 years old and has been owned by the same family the whole time. Rooms are quiet and quaint. Our room was the "Plants" ("Tzmachim") room, which was cavernous, with vaulted ceilings and a giant in-room jacuzzi tub. The bed and other furniture were comfortable. The room came with a mini-fridge, tea/coffee, bottled water, and homemade sweets. The only down side to the room was that the WC was up three in-room stairs.

Breakfast was served in the restaurant. Unlike most B&Bs, which use their restaurant only for the perfunctory breakfast buffet, Pina Barosh's restaurant is actually a famous restaurant, known as Shiri Bistro. "Al Shulchan," Israel's leading foodie magazine, selected Shiri Bistro as one of the top 100 restaurants in the country. Guests at the B&B may order anything they want off of the restaurant's breakfast menu, and breakfast is served from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., so you can sleep in.

Rosh Pina is an old settlement from the first aliyah (1880s), just outside of Tzfat (a.k.a. Safed). Today, it is popular with artists and craftsmen, and the town has a number of small galleries and workshops, especially in summer. Because of its location above the Hula Valley opposite the Golan Heights, it has amazing views. Staying in Rosh Pina is a great alternative to staying in the more touristy town of Tzfat or the unaesthetic city of Tiberius. However, all the historic and religious sights in Tzfat, Meron, Tiberius, Capernaum and Taghba are just a short drive away. For a getaway in the Upper Galilee, this is definitely the place to stay.
