“Great suite, poor hotel facilities”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013 via mobile

The other reviews are very accurate about the fantastic balconies in this hotel, best we've ever had and effectively another room with loungers and a dining table. The fitments in the suite were also good. But there's hardly any room for clothes so beware of you are ther more than a few days. Nor anywhere to leave your suitcase out. The entrance to the bathroom means you can't open the wardrobe at the same time, be careful if there's two of you! The hotel is very mean with its toiletries and towels. We bought more of the former and asked several times for more of the latter, which they then brought

Breakfast in the small room on the ground floor was ok. Freshly made omelettes were great but otherwise poor for a hotel of this standard in Israel. Breakfast downstairs on the sabbath when the hotel was full was horrendous. It was like being imprisoned at a function you felt obliged to go to and knew no-one.

The pool got the sun in the afternoon but was not particularly attractive, we preferred the tremendous balcony which had the sun late afternoon. There was no information about other hotel facilities which is very unusual although it does have a spa and gym. No bar and the only open seating area is in reception

Svetlana on reception was particularly helpful and Moshe in the breakfast room also very pleasant. There were no problems parking

At the right price and for a few days only this hotel is fine. But not for a long stay nor when it's busy

Island Suites has fantastic views of the coastline, large, modern rooms with decks over the water and super staff.

Overall, it was one of the best relaxing hotels I have ever stayed in. And I was there for business!

They acknowledge they need to improve the internet. It was very slow. But the rest of the hotel was beyond expectations.

This is the second time my wife and I stayed in this hotel (apartment-hotel). This and the Ramada, across the street, are the best hotels in Netanya. The hotel is very modern and bright. Has beautiful beach views from every apartment. They have one and two room apartments with kitchenettes. Everything is very small and there with not much room to hang your clothes or keep your luggage open. They do not have a dresser and the hangers and kitchen provisions are minimal. The bathroom provisions are OK except for towels. Unless you ask for, all you get is one thin towel per person. Once you request they will bring you additional towels. The internet is now FREE (it was not at our last visit), they will provide a ticket at the reception with a password. The hotel is kept clean and room service is provided daily. Although it is not at the center of town (you may not want to be at the center of town) it is not distant from it and if your rent a car, it has great access to the Tel Aviv-Haifa main road. Parking is available FREE in front and under the building. The breakfast is very different for the American taste. It has an Eastern European flavor (many Russians and French visitors)with fish, Herring, pickled foods, spicy dishes etc... Obviously there is bread, cheese and other recognizable foods as well. On Saturdays there is kind of a Kosher deal in which they will not cook but provide food. There is a small pool in the hotel and the beach is kind of far away (long mile walk) all the beaches in the area are down a cliff with limited access. I am not sure if transportation is available. We walked. The staff is mostly pleasant and helpful. All in all, we were satisfied with the value provided. "Luxury" is relative in each country.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view.

I've been given a room at the 18th floor from which the view was quite amazing as it felt like the entire Mediterranean poured under my legs. The suites are well equipped with a 37"-42" TV on each room. Among the Hi-Tech kitchen amenities one can find an oven, a microwave and a huge fridge. But that's pretty much all I can say about Island. The Friday night and Saturday morning meals were bad. The dining room is located in an underground floor (-2) so there are no windows. The swimming pool was dirty and took time to clean-up (only at around 11:30AM on Saturday). Also - I would expect the architects to find a solution to the heavy north-west winds coming at the pool, taking almost everything with them including chairs, tables and peoples belongings.
Overall I would say that my family made my Island experience look great, not as much as the hotel did.

Room Tip: Choose a high-floor room with a sea-view
