We went here because the guide book basically told us we had to. It was a bit of a challenge to find it but after asking for directions on every corner, we finally made it. Kateif was what we were after to give us some fuel before we set out on the Jesus Trail. These tasty little morsels hit the spot, although I'm not sure they were the right nutrition for a day of hiking. Regardless, Ali made this a wonderful and memorable experience. He clearly takes pride in his history, culture and culinary abilities!

Had a late lunch here on the day we arrived in Nazareth. It turned out to be the best meal of a three week trip. Simple dishes - hommous, felafel, chicken spiced with sumac - and fresh vibrant salad. We plotted to return - but never made it back. Great displays of old hand tools on Ali's back walls.

Ali has created a restaurant that not only gives joy to your tastebuds. Your eyes are entertained by his huge collection of antiques on the walls, ceiling and every other nook and cranny. Wonderful felafel, hummus, salads, meats and deserts all prepared by Ali himself. If Ali has time he will engage you in fascinating conversation. It's worth asking him about his philosophy on life but put aside plenty of time for your visit

If you will succeed to find this place this place near the white mosque just near the market in old Nazareth you will feel like "Magellan": you will enter a new world which combines special food with a great collection of old staff, especially musical instruments, and the owner which is a real character. The atmosphere is unique and the owner which is extremely friendly says he has great Hummus and salads and other hood things but I would die for the "kateif" which is a very special kind of pancake stuffed with goat cheese or nuts and served with a nice sweet sauce. Take it with a small Arab (black) coffee and you'll feel like in paradise.

Near the white mosque in old city of nazareth located a magical place. Loaded with ancient decoration items , which were collected by the owner, a cosy atmosphere welcomes you as you enter the place. The "not to miss" is the kataief, mini pancakes stuffed with sweet cheese or nuts, covered with sweet sauce, heaven!!
