“A Pleasant Surprise”
Review of Dante - CLOSED

Dante
Cuisines: Fusion
Description: The restaurant bar is close to the square spring, relatively quiet enough street bustle Nazareth, has indoor and outdoor seating. Nazareth abundance of restaurants, but renamed Dante restaurant, western fusion with a Mediterranean touch.

We only wanted a light dinner, as we'd had a late lunch. Looking for a bowl of soup and a salad, we were pleasantly surprised by this lovely restaurant in a great location near St. Mary's Well. We had excellent soup, though we can't comment on the mains. It seems like a popular place, as it began to fill up quickly. The atmosphere was outstanding, though it was hard to believe we were in Nazareth. This was much more of a European type establishment. Highly recommend it for an enjoyable night out.

My friend and I were wandering, looking at various menus, including those of more well-known restaurants, but we weren't quite finding what we were looking for. Most places had the same old food and we were looking for something a bit more inventive. We stumbled upon Dante and liked what we saw on the menu, so decided to give them a chance (at the time, it wasn't even listed on tripadvisor).

Well, everything we tried was excellent! We had the huge mushrooms stuffed with a local cheese, the shrimp with tomato & avocado sauce, and salmon with a variety of potatoes. For dessert, we ordered their frozen ḥalva with a layer of (frozen) cheese on the outside. Amazing! We finished it all off with some mint Indian chai. The bill came to NIS245, and I thought it was well worth the price.

For those into atmosphere, Dante doesn't disappoint in that category either, and some seats have a nice view too. This was one of the best meals of our three-week journey through Israel and Jordan.

We recently had a celebration and worked with Chef Elias to create a special menu. We were not disappointed as the food was very creative, using the freshest and high quality ingredients... simply stated, the food was outstanding. Also, the service was unmatched as it was very attentive and professional. If you are in Nazareth, you should not miss the opportunity to dine at Dante restaurant.

Great setting,an old house, a small street in Nazareth old market. Yet all inside feels very young and fresh, high quality ingredients, creative food and excellent service.

If you are looking for traditional arabic food , go up the street to Mary's Square Area. If you are looking for new creative food with high quality local products from the nearby market got to Dante.

In additon, at nights this place offers a great bar and some DJ music (check before you go)
