“Beautiful and thought-inspiring”
Reviewed May 31, 2014

This is a very modern church, so you don't go here to see ancient architecture. But you SHOULD go here to experience the possibility that this could be where Mary received her angelic visit. When my wife and I visited, we were inspired by the thought that, even if this is not the exact location, it is almost certainly very hear the exact location. We were inspired thinking of how Mary's life was changed so dramatically here or near here. If you drive here, be very careful. Driving in Nazareth is NOT simple and NOT calm! But it's possible.

“Much to See, Take Time to Explore”
Reviewed May 24, 2014

The activity begins before we even enter the grounds with church group parading around the area with drums, singing, clapping, wonderful vibe to this area. There is so much to see, be certain to walk around to the side of the church and view the door with 3 dimensional depictions of the major events in Jesus's life. Also not to be missed are the contributions from all over the world that surround the church. The current 2 story church is over the site of an earlier Byzantine & then Crusader-era church. The lower level contains the Grotto which is believed to be the remains of the original childhood home of Mart. Well worth the stop.

“A must see in Nazareth”
Reviewed May 18, 2014

This is a huge modern basilica that dominated the centre of Nazareth. Although the outside is impressive the inside lacks soul with the bare concrete beams. So although it's worth a visit,do not expect to be blown away by its beauty inside.

“Historic Church”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

Loved this place......The angel Gabrielle supposed to have appeared to Mary here telling her she was the chosen one. The church was built over her stone house, loved all the different Mary portraits from around the world and the church was very pretty with a calming atmosphere.
