We were able to see several services. Large groups just rotate through this place! The paintings outside were awesome. While we were there (planned on purpose) there was a muslim call to prayer. The church is right next to a mosque. It provides for a very interesting back drop. It was just a regular church though. Significant Christian church.

This great Church which stands in the middle of this historic city is the most beautiful one I saw on my Holy Land tour. It is supposed to be built on the site where Mary's house used to be. The remains of it (a part of it, the storeroom if I remember correctly) can be seen in the lower dome.
The Church has two domes, one over the another, both magnificent.
The Church courtyard is full of Annunciation mosaics and paintings from all Christian countries over the world, but the best few are inside, on the upper level.
Pay special attention to the Japanese, where Mary has oriental, Japanese face, and the one from USA where she appears in some kind of a Broadway dress.

Angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and made known to her of her immaculate conception of the child Jesus here. This day is highly celebrated as the feast of Annunciation on March 26 in the catholic community.

Big Church. Outside looks good. Inside is full of concrete. Not very good. If the concrete was just covered by wood or stone, but it just does look bad.
