This is a very beautiful church. It was open to anyone to go inside and visit it. It contains many nice windows with stained glass. In the courtyard there are mosaics representing a lot of the countries of the world so you will be pleasantly surprised to see that perhaps even your country is represented there. The gardens around it are beautiful and this is a church many will remember for years to come.
Not far from the church (a 5 minute walk) is also an information centre quite helpful with free maps.

It's a different setting of the surrounding walls.
Countries sent their view of Mary (usually with baby Jesus) in mosaic, reliefs, paintings, and these art-walls are on the top floor, in the modern church.
Downstairs are the old church and the archaeological foundings.

I love, love, love mosaics and stained glass, and this church has both. They were, by far, my favorite windows of any that I've seen. They are not delicate things, they look like huge chuncks of jewels placed in a frame. There are mosaics depicting Mary from around the world. It was wonderful to see the many faces given to her by different people. The church itself is of a very modern design, and not spectacular if you're looking for cathedral architecture. But, given the history of the area, that's to be expected.

Was lucky enough to catch the end of a service here which was really something to see. Outside there are plenty of artistic offerings from various countries.
