“Someone should collect the rubbish...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

We went to visit the Well but were highly dissappointed by the fact that around the back of the Well, there was loads of rubbish, which could have easily been collected to make the area cleaner.

“Is this it??”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2013

Background: Mary’s Well (or "The spring of the Virgin Mary") is reputed to be located at the site where the Archangel Gabriel appeared to Mary and announced that she would bear the Son of God, an event known as "The Annunciation."

Although close to the main road, the lack of directional signs leading up to it may make people miss this site. Built like a monument to Mary, there is nary a statue anywhere, just a covered well. Unfortunately, the site is so run down and there isn't much else to see. So disappointing.

“Ok to see but Nazareth is kind of dirty and run down.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

Mary's well was a spot in the middle of town. It was cleaned up but not anything more than a monument built in her honor. It probably is not even the place she went as it would have been closer to the real spring.

“What a gem!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

We didn't quite know where Mary's Well was and as there was a large public watering hole in the square, we thought that might have been it and felt quite disappointed. However, while wandering around, we saw a small Orthodox church and decided to go and investigate. What a good thing we did because the Well is in this little church! As with many Orthodox churches, the riches of the interiors was very visible but going down to visit Mary's Well was a lovely surprise.

“What well”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2012

You might miss this attraction as it is not signposted and doesn't look like anything special. It is filled with trash and unremarkable.
