If you're in Nazareth you'll want to visit Mary's Well just to say you were there BUT it's a disappointment. The site is small, with litter and Arab graffiti.

For a symbol that is supposed to be a trademark for the city, this has a "is that all there is" feel to it. Didn't seen if there was any textual material around it, because the graffiti around it is scarey enough that it didn't invite further attention.

Realistically speaking three isn't much to see it is a cordened off well that is full of a litter. However from a religious or historical point of view you cannot come to Nazareth and miss this!

We were fortunate enough to be given our tour of Nazareth by the local chaplain. He was born and raised in Nazareth. He remembers when water poured from the well and described for us howitzer traveled down the hillside to this spot. Unfortunatly water no longer flows. Developers have put in structures to block water from getting to the site.
