“A remarkable church of Holy matrimony”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

From the northern part of the Sea of the Galilee, we turned down to the southwest, toward
Cana, still in Galilee Province, near the another significant city of Israel, i.e. Nazareth.
Cana is the place, we know by the appearing of the miracle, according to the Fourth Gospel,
where and when, Jesus performed his turning of the water in the wine at a wedding feast.
Here in Cana, we have got a splendid witness of this event in the past, that is a magnificent Church of the Wedding. With central part of the structure, building and two associate towers on the left and the right side, with large balcony on the whole length of the front side of the church, the stone fence of the balcony, with statues in the corners of it, and behind, in the rear, the three stone arcs( two smaller and one central bigger, in which niche, is a statue of the Holy Goddess of the Matrimony), that edifice emits the occurrence of such elegance, solemnity and festivity, as the wedding is in its matter.
Of the other notable places, here in Cana, worth of mentioning is, for sure, in the proximity of the Church of the Wedding, Nathaniel Bartholomew Church and Ancien Muslim Cemetery.
That visit was agreeable on the way to the Jesus's Nazareth.

“We got Married (again) at the House in Cana”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

Well guys! Face it, if you are married and on a tour of Israel and get anywhere near Cana, you'll get that look from your wife! The Church is beautiful and its built over the original house where the Wedding at Cana took place (you get to see that by going down into the basement grotto. Again, its a site covered by the remains of several old churches built from 300 to 1700 ad. The site is well maintained and attractive. They have an area to the side of the church where wedding parties can be held ( book well in advance).

If you go on a tour, you'll have an opportunity to renew your wedding vows on the altar and will be presented with a certificate signed and dated. (A donation for the certificate is expected of course). Cana is just about 6 miles from Nazareth and right on the trail of Christ's ministry in Galilee, so its worth the visit,

“A true blessing for our marriage”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

We renewed our marriage vows along with 10 other couples. They gave us a certificate which was quite beautiful and a wonderful keepsake. The church is built over some ruins where Jesus turned the water into wine. You can see the large jugs they kept the water/wine. It was a wonderful side trip!

“A unique place to renew Wedding Vows.”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

Visited this place as part of the 700-strong True Life in God www.tlig.org Holy Land Pilgrimage. The local shops focus on Cana as being the site of Jesus's first miracle (as recorded in the gospels). We in our tour did something really special - 6 couples traveling together renewed their Wedding Vows in the Cana Church in front of a priest. The music played at the start and finish of the short ceremony was just like at a wedding!
