Nazareth Village was a wonderful place to see how daily life looked in the time of Christ. The staff are very well-informed and passionate about what they do. They are eager to answer questions and help their visitors get the most of their time visiting. Yes, there is a gift shop with tourist souvenirs, but also many hand-crafted locally produced goods that are first rate. Outside of the gift shop there is a historical feel, not like it's a tourist attraction. Well worth the time to visit and meet the people there.

The stories about Nazareth as you learned at Sunday school and in the church come alive in the great place made in the style of historic Nazareth.
The city Nazareth changed during the last 2000 years shape and atmosphere.
In order to give you a chance to experience Nazareth "as it used to be" Nazareth Village was exactly built to give you that.
You'll see the little details of daily life 2000 years ago.
This is by all means no "Disneyland" style place.
You shouldn't miss it while visiting Nazareth.

On a rugged hillside, sheep and goats are herded, donkeys fed and grapes cultivated in a scene that could be 2000 years old, indeed since Jesus lived nearby. A lookout occupies a watchtower, a synagogue awaits the next congregation and Joseph and Mary are busy in a carpenter’s shop. Successive waves of occupation have altered much of Israel beyond recognition. The massive development of the last 70 years have obliterated or hemmed in so many significant Biblical sites. It is greatly refreshing then to find such a place that has tried to recreate a village that Jesus would have recognised. An excellent guide, Daniel, leads the tour with great understanding and feeling. Indeed the rest of the cast and supporting staff devote much time and enthusiasm into making a visit here a memorable and meaningful experience. It was certainly one of the great highlights of our tour of the Holy Land. I would hope that every pilgrimage would include a stop here on the itinerary.
