Shtarkman Erna Boutique Hotel
Ranked #1 of 7 Hotels in Nahariya
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 30, 2013

The Shtarkman Erna Hotel is a small family hotel that has been refurbished. Still run by the same family that founded it over 50 years ago, the service is absolutely great.

The lobby and public areas have been redecorated in the style of the 30's when the town was founded by Jews escaping the Nazi regime in Germany. You feel as though you are the guest in a beautiful private home of that period. The lobby is just like a salon you would find in a Central European home of that period

The rooms are a different story. If you are used to small family hotels in Europe, you will feel right at home. The rooms are small, clean and functional. The beds while not perfect are comfortable, though again if you are American you will find them to be small.
There is also a yard in the back which is a nice place to sit and relax.

Breakfast was wonderful and a great value. All in all I found it to be a very nice place to relax, with the advantage of being a short walk both from the main street and from the beach.

The only thing we did not like about this hotel - there was some road work on the street and they did not mention it when I was booking the room. On weekdays the construction starts at about 6:30 and it's really noisy.
Everything else was just amazing! We loved the design of the lobby, the lovely garden, our room (executive, small but very cute and cozy). The girls at the reception were amazing - always helpful, had some great recommendations for us and just fun to chat with.
Breakfast was also very good and they even serve coffee/tea& cake at 17:00 (shhh, don't tell anyone!).
The beach is a short walking distance, so is the promenade. If we ever go there again, we will definitely choose this hotel! Highly recommended!

We stayed one night there, very clean, nice people, good breakfast, reasonable price, the lady and the man at the reception were extremely nice and helpful, we had to leave early for work so they prepared a lunch box for us. I totally recommend it.

We stayed at the Shtarkman Erna hotel last week for one night as a stopover in our tour of Northern Israel. The lady at the reception was wonderful--very helpful, pleasant, and eager to please. The hotel gave us free access to the country club pool down the street, which was wonderful for the kids after a day of touring. When I first saw our room, I thought it looked dated, and I was worried about comfort levels. However the beds were very very comfortable, and although the room was dated, it was clean. We awoke to a lovely buffet breakfast the next morning. Truly it was a pleasure staying there.

A beautiful motel. Modern, clean beautiful all over hotel. SO VERY disappointed we didn't stay longer. As we were cycling to Safad (Tzfat) the next morning and leaving well before breakfast, the staff organised a pack for us to be ready at 6am.....yoghurt, bread, butter, jam, tomato, cucumber, boiled egg and bottled water. Gorgeous motel, gorgeous staff.....I'm coming back!!!
