The staff was very helpful. The buffet breakfast and dinner were above our expectations. The Jordan River was about 10 minutes away. We had a swim in the Jordan to cool off. The room we were in had a small refrigerator. The area is very quiet and peaceful.

Our family of 4 just finished a 2-week trip in Israel and Kfar Blum was our first stop. Our fabulous guide recommended the hotel and we were not disappointed. We had the premium, not standard, rooms and found them to be superior European-style (and size) rooms. The breakfast was the typical tourist "Israeli" breakfast - wide variety of buffet, kosher, and average quality. We had dinner there one night - same average quality and variety as the breakfast. Service and front desk support was good. As this was December, the pool was not open, but the grounds were very pretty and the kibbutz is well located. Very good, reliable choice. Not cheap for the nicer rooms, but comfortable.

Visiting a relative in a neighbouring kibbutz we stayed 4 nights at the Pastoral in Kfar Blum. The hotel is spread over several buildings. This gives you the feeling of staying in a kibbutz on one hand. On the other hand you have to walk to the breakfast room or to your dinner. Breakfast is outstanding with an enormous variety of delicious food. We didn't try the restaurant. The hotel bar is well equipped. Our room was nice and clean. Also the bathroom. Although it was disturbing that every time we took a shower, water was running through the bathroom. We saw one of the newest rooms which looked very trendy and beautiful. The Spa must be good, but we didn't have time to try it. They have a nice big outdoor swimming pool, about 5-10 min. walk from the hotel buildings. Service is ok, although not overwhelming. The hotel is located in a central place in the northern galilee area. All in all we thought that prices are pretty high, for what you get.

60+ of us stayed here in early March 2008 for several nights while touring the Christian and historical sites in Galilee and the Golan Heights. It was a wonderful experience. The food was great, so many salads and vegetables it was easy to stay on the very few carbo's diet, except for the yummy deserts! The grounds are lovely, flowers were in bloom, and everyone was friendly, guests and staff alike. Rooms were not luxurious, but very comfortable. I did have trouble with shower curtain being a bit short for keeping water inside the tub, and the bartender was much less attentive once the weekend guests arrived.

Take the time to walk down to the Jordan River, (10minutes). It is beautiful, rushing over the rapids this time of the year, and there are plenty of places to sit on the grassy banks or at the pavillion and contemplate all the sites I had seen during the day.

Wonderfully peaceful place and I look forward to returning next year.

My stay at Kfar Blum was part of a tour to Israel, so I did not select
this property. I had no idea what to expect, and must admit, was pleasantly surprised. While the room was basic, and could have used new linens, bedspreads, and chair, it was clean. The shower water was exceedingly hot, with great water pressure. And to my surprise, a device to boil hot water and a refrigerator were included in the room.
Don't expect to find anything on TV, but then again, you are not there
to watch TV. A highlight of the stay was the food. Breakfast was outstanding, as good as or better than the 4 star hotel we stayed at in Jerusalem, and dinner was super. The wait staff were exceedingly friendly, and the limited knowledge of English did not deter them from
communicating with you. A well stocked and attractive bar in the lobby
is not to be missed. While I did not have time to use the Spa, I did walk through it, and it is quite trendy, and immaculate. The air, especially at night, was wonderfully chilly, and you could smell the fertilizer from the nearby fields. Wonderful grounds with many flowering trees.

  • Liked — Comfy, great hot water and pressure in shower, nice view from window

My family of four just returned from a 15 day tour of Israel. We spent 3-4 days in the Northern Galillee/Golan Heights region which was beautiful and interesting. We had originally been booked into Kfar Giladi, another Kibbutz Hotel, but it was an awful experience (See my review of it in Trip Advisor) and we checked out early and switched to Kfar Blum. What a pleasant change! You got the same nice feeling of being in a spread-out Kibbutz, but in a much nicer place. The front desk was courteous and professional. The rooms were not super-luxury, but nice, clean and modern with decent bathrooms. We requested and received adjoining rooms. They had just put in a brand new spa which my wife used and said was quite good. I used the pool which was a nice walk away and was huge and terrific. The communal dining room was lovely and they served a terrific buffet breakfast. As far as I'm concerned, THIS is the place to stay in the area. Do NOT stay at Kfar Giladi.

I was part of a tour group of 80 people who stayed here for 2 nights. The grounds are clean and neat and the pool is enormous with a friendly lifeguard. The room had a view of a nice open grassy field and the hills of neighboring Lebanon. The facility is in a quiet area.

My room was plain and simple, 2 single beds, with some ants crawling in the bathroom, but I guess that is sometimes unavoidable. I was on the 2nd floor and there didn't seem to be an elevator, so I carried my 35 pound suitcase up on my own. But I was told that there would've been someone to assist me if I had waited.

As part of my stay, the lavish breakfast was included. It was a huge buffet with fresh omelettes made before your eyes and a friendly pastry chef supplying plenty of varieties of croissants and the like.
