“Sababa! Most Wonderful!”
Reviewed January 12, 2011

Only got to stay at the guesthouse for one night because we were on a tour.
It was wonderful! The indoor pool, the clean, well decorated room, the huge,
delicious supper, and the multiple choices at breakfast made it a great
experience. We got a little time to walk around the kibbutz, met some friendly
people, and know we want to go back and spend some more time in this
wonderful place.

Clean, simple room, well-tended grounds, good breakfast and dinner buffet, lovely lawn for evening relaxing with coffee or a drink, beautiful pool, nearby attractions for parks, hiking, historical sites. Kibbutz itself is historical site that gives an appreciation of the early days of kibbutz life and the precarious nature of life along the border.

We had stayed at the Metropolitan in Tel Aviv and Grand Court in Jerusalem as part of our tour. We did not look into the kibbutz hotel, since there was no choice between first class and tourist class hotels for this location. Frankly, we were expecting a basic room, and as long as it was clean, we would be happy for a couple of nights.

By far, this was the nicest place on our tour ! The room was a little small, but decorated nicely; a little spare, but it contributed to the clean look of the place. The overhead rain shower was a nice touch, and although there was low clearance between the shower basin and bathroom floor, the glass shower doors kept the rest of the room dry.

This was the only hotel where the aircon worked well - temperature control as well as fan control It was nice to take a hot, hot shower for a change and then be able to cool down in the bedroom.

The buffet breakfast was a fabulous spread of all kinds of salads, the freshest, sweetest fruit, cheeses, eggs, etc. There was a lot to choose from every morning.

We walked around the perimeter of the compound to work off some of the food; dinners are also available. If you prefer something lighter for dinner, there is a small, but well stocked grocery store on the premises. Pls remember that it is closed in observance of Shabat, so plan ahead. The room had a small refrigerator, which came in handy.

I suspect that the differing reviews are because there are a variety of rooms. We were in #29.

There are three workstations for internet access, but they didn't all seem to work all of the time. There is wifi only in the reception/dining room building

Stayed 2 nights. Fairly basic but clean rooms. OK buffet dinner. WiFi did not work. There were three computers in the lobby, one of which didn't work. Small fitness room, which attendant likes to close 15 minutes ahead of set closing time, claiming that they need to clean. Lots of unsupervised loud unruly kids in the lobby and near the pool, but fortunately the rooms were quiet.

This was a first for our group of 6 Aussies! We hadn't been to Israel before, and so of
had no idea what a Kibbutz was. We had read the reviews and the word 'spartan' had
certainly been used before!
We found the whole experience great, better than expected, with very very clean rooms,
very comfortable beds, good but not great breakfasts........
if there was one small suggestion, it would be that some staff could have been happier!
Overall though, we enjoyed our experience and would certainly recommend for
anyone wanting accomodation in the Gallilee area for a few nights!

Just returned from Israel where we spent two nights at Kfar Giladi. It was a long drive North, and although very scenic, we will not return to that particular kibbutz. It is indeed spartan, and 'reasonably clean, however getting to and from rooms to dining room, outodoors, is very complicated, as everything seems to be set out all over the place. The elevator is an expereince, like something from a lost world! Food reasonable and staff nice. On the plus side, the indoor pool is good and free internet, with three computers provided. We were unfortunate enough to be situated over the 'disco' and the music was making our walls shake. It was unbelievably loud,. and even after three attemps, and appeals to front desk, management, etc. the music continued until midnight. We were assured on each occasion that it would be stopped, but never was, and our group was exhausted, after just having arrived in Israel two days before ,and had spent that day touring all day. We still cannot figure out why they have a disco situated right beside the sleeping accommodations. The kibbutz was one and a half hour drive back down to Tiberias etc. and then we had the long drive back at night. Too far North, - not worth the drive - medicore at best. We will definitely not be taking a group back there.

The room was disappointingly spartain but very clean. There is nothing to do, and they even had an indoor pool, so this place is fine for a tour or when you are with a group. Breakfast was acceptable, nothing special The dinner buffet dinner was O.K., but one night we (smartly) ordered from the bar and the food was terrific.
