“Nice stay for our family”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2012

We stayed in a relatively new block of rooms. Good size, nice to have connecting rooms for family, comfortable and air conditioned. Also used the exercise equipment. Breakfast and dinner were more than adequate. We were touring, so did not spend much time at the hotel, but we did have some opportunities to walk within the area. A great base for our time in the north.

Although the room was not large, everything was extremely comfortable. It was the only hotel in our Israel trip where the laundry was a reasonable price. The bar and dining room were great and the food was good. On Shabbat, (Saturday morning) breakfast was really limited to dairy and coffee from the machine did not work. Everything was good otherwise. There was even live music during th4e evening.. Israeli Sambas. There was free wifi in the lobby area.

I was there last winter .... The old section is like an old pension with no inspiration. The best part is the pool but it is very crowded because it is open to the public...I have to say that the view is so nice from the top floors. The funny thing is the orange juice at breakfast - serving in plastic cups - the coffee as well....The breakfast cakes look like been shopped at a poor pastry- very industrial.

I gave this hotel three stars, but don't let that be an indication of any problem. It was a fine hotel, but 3 stars is "Average" and that's exactly what I would say this place is. It's clean, the common areas are updated, and the staff is mostly friendly (in an Israeli way - for better or worse).

The rooms could use some updating, as they are very basic. Nothing rundown, but it wasn't a room I was dying to spend a ton of time in.

Some great points: the restaurant has amazing buffets day and night, and it was included in our stay. Careful: for some reason all food, dessert, etc. is included but drinks at lunch/dinner are not! Thankfully juice, coffee, etc. in the morning is included. The hotel has decent wifi, but only in the lobby. Would be nice to have in the rooms.

I agree with the commenter below that it's strange to be in such a beautiful area and have zero rooms with a view. But alas.

My only complaint was the front desk staff, who seemed bored and less than eager to be helpful. Considering we were part of a large group (for a hockey tournament in nearby Metula) during low season, you'd think they would be thrilled with the business.

In short, this hotel is good value for the money, but nothing special.

We liked the Kfar Giladi Hotel. It's in a beautiful area. Our room was warm (it was cold & rainy when we were there), clean and comfortable, with coffee maker and refrigerator. The bathroom was big, which is unusual, with a good shower and plenty of hot water. The common areas were pleasant and clean, with free wifi. There are computers for guest use, but usually taken by kids. There were lot of kids! The dining room was big, very nice, and the food was great; desserts outstanding. The only drawback was the noise; did I mention there were lots of kids? :-) The little interaction we had with the staff was all good. It was a good place and we'd go there again.

Relaxed, full-service in a northern kibbutz. Excellent Israeli buffet-style meals serve groups and individuals from everywhere(I was there during an international hockey tournament in nearby Metullah).Comfortable common areas with complimentary wi-fi and computers for guest use, large interesting garden and grounds. Significant historical values, handy location to northern sites and wineries.

Room Tip: slopes are a challenge for some, enquire ahead for assistance which is happily and readily available...

The rooms are very basic, but clean. Our room for 4 was comfortable for a night sleep, but you wouldn't want to spend time in the room just to enjoy it. The bathroom was adequate with good shower. Overall, the rooms require updating and a picky traveler would find many imperfections.

There is an amazing pool with panoramic windows, the view of mount Hermon in winter is fabulous. The food is plentiful and of good quality, both dinner and breakfast, however the restaurant is kosher, so there are some limitations. For spa and restaurant access you'll need to leave you building and walk into the main one.

Overall, the hotel serves as a base for exploring the surrounding area, and is excellent in this capacity.
