“Could be better.”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

I read all the glowing reviews people wrote about this place and then booked it! What a mistake that was. The place is in need of serious renovation, caters for coach parties and hasn't fixed a thing since it was built. Our room was like a motel room in USA, but one of the worst! Two rooms with bedroom as you enter with no table or chair in it and old drapes. Second room was a spare bedroom with two old chair beds which were stained horribly, an old t.v. and a single wardrobe crammed full of spare pillows and bedding with barely space for our coats. Kitchen had fridge and kettle and the bathroom was small and cramped and the floor running with water from the leaking tap which had been leaking for a while because there was black mold behind the sink unit. The room faced a road so it was noisy too. There was wifi in the lobby which was also a bar with abysmal lighting. It was supposed to be the trip of a life time for my husband and I and the reports written on this page were nothing like the place so I don't know what people expect to find when they travel but I certainly didn't expect that! We had booked 4 nights and moved out after the first night and I am going to try and get a refund as it was $125 a night. Food was, I have to say excellent overlooking the Sea of Galilee but again they were catering for the masses on coaches and the place just looked tired. The gardens were wonderful and I imagine in summer very nice to be in but not on the beach as the photo depicted which I saw of the place. You have to go down a long walkway before you get even close to the water. I did not feel safe being in that room at all and spend most of the night coughing from the mold and worrying about if we were safe in our room!

Room Tip: Ask to see your room before you stay there and don't pre-book as you may not get a refund if it...

We are a group of dancers (over 80 guests), we organize dance seminar every year.

This is the third time we stayed in this hotel, warmly recommended.

Good food, great service.

We received a miserable room in building 7. We heardt he noise from the highway. Was written that the room has terrace but in fact it was an entry to premises. Saturday reakfast was cold. No double beds. IT was a terrible smell of air freshener in the room. The room requires renovation.

Room Tip: Avoid the Hotel

Best thing about the Ohalo manor was the food! We were fortunate that we were there for Sukkot and the banquet that the hotel put on the first night of the holiday was incredible. Even on the other days we were there the food was excellent (for a buffet).
The location is also good with views from the grounds and some rooms across the Sea of Galilee. The room we had was in a single storey motel-style building. Everything worked - e.g. aircon, showers etc but the biggest downside was the very narrow uncomfortable bed which didn't do much for a good night's sleep.

Room Tip: Ask if they have any rooms with normal-sized beds!

Pro: The food was good and the service at the reception friendly and reacted promptly on our requests.
The pool clean.

Con: The cleanliness of the room was poor (hair in the shower an on the new bed sheets). The room was cleaned the first 2 days. After that only towels have been replaced and the garbage was emptied. The rooms were cleaned only on request. The soap and toilet paper was replaced only at request.
WiFi is only accessible close the to the reception.

The pool is a 20 minute walk away and the beach a 30 minute walk away.
The next shopping area is in Tiberias (12km) or near the beach.

This place needs some renovation and maintenance (windows frames are rotten, door locks need some oil, some lamp shades are missing...)
The room service needs to be replaced or better trained to be more diligent and trustworthy. During our stay, some money and cosmetics of our group went missing from within our bags. I hope that this incident will be pursued and solved.

Room Tip: In the rooms at the lake side you have less traffic noise.
