Stopped here on my way back to Jerusalem after visiting Jericho and the Mount of Temptations. This is really just a tree in fenced Russian property said to be in the assumed location of the original sycamore tree. This is certainly not an attraction to be visited on its own. There will be a bit of hassle by sellers nearby.

It's a tree. But it's an excellent tree. def worth a drive by and maybe a creative picture. Look at pics before you go otherwise you could drive by and miss it.

The Zaccheus sycamore tree is famous for what happened in Jericho with Jesus looking up to see the tax collector who wanted to see him. It is what Jesus did after that with Zaccheus
The tree may not be the same one, yet it gives you an idea of what it look like.
Jericho is a nice city near the Jordan river, and you can see the baptismal site at the same time with just about 3-4 mile travail from the center of Jericho

We stopped our bus to take a look -- some folks got out to take a picture, but the Zaccheus Tree is just a sycamore in Jericho. However, you HAVE to try the sycamore nuts that you can pick up at several spots in Jericho. They are not really sycamore nuts, but they are yummy!
