“Fun experience!”
Reviewed July 31, 2011

The restauarant is in a back alley in Jaffa along a row of outdoor restaurants. It looks like it's straight out of greenwich village before that area became gentrified, euthanized by chains and venture capital yuppies. The street in Jaffa really is a throw back, It looks almost like a movie set. Set in the middle of these restaurants is Charcuterie. Hard to know where one restaurant stops and the other begins. Nevertheless, this is where the young and cool of Tel Aviv meet and hug and sometimes actually sit and eat. Along the other side of the narrow alley, tyhe restaurant had a dinner/ birthday of some local starlet. They had to keep adding tables as more and more air-kissing glitterati kept showing up. The beauty of being a tourist is that it reaffirms the falseness of fame. It is not merely fletting it is local. I had no idea who these people were. I How sad for them that our table of five paid them no never mind. Thankfully we were able to concentrate on our food. The menu is impossible to figure out, so forget about it. Basically, just order all different struff. Their cuts iof meat are excellent. Chorizo in Israel? Better than what you get at El Gordo in Guadalajara, that's for sure. Better than Zarela Martinez' in NYC, too! Other cuts are top notch. Take your Lipitor! The sides were greasy. The service is swift and pleasant and fun. The outdoor atmosphere was a typical perfect night in Israel. It is the Mediterranean, remember?

“Piggy restaurant full of flavour”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

Nested right in the heart of Old Jaffa's flea market, Charcuterie is famous for its brunch and for its meals using pork, a rarity in the country. Delicious pork sausages are waiting for you along some excellent beef steaks and Alsacian specialities. Meat lovers will be happy. The choice of wine is also excellent. Despite the hefty prices, do not expect any comfort: you will be seated at small tables in the middle of the tiny street - try to sit close to a ventilator in summer - but this lack of comfort is the norm for Jaffa trendy restaurants. It looks basic, it feels basic, but it's trendy and the excellent food is supposed to justify the price. Waiters are efficient and nice. It's not the most romantic spot ever, and the lack of comfort is annoying, but it's worth the bite.

“Great time in old Jaffa”
Reviewed June 13, 2011

I spent my last night in Israel at Charcuterie on loved it. The food was excellent and the wine recommendations appropriate. I loved the outdoor seating in the old flea market. I highly recommend. The view may not be of the old port but the food definitely makes up for what the view is lacking.

“The best authentic place in town”
Reviewed June 9, 2011

The pkace was recommended by local friends and we had the best treat in town. When arriving our table was not ready and we got 4 glassese of cava 10 min later we were seated by extremely nice waiter that expkained the dishes perfectly and recomended us a brunello wine cheaper than we had in Italy. The bread made on place was faboulous so were the beef fillet and the home made sausages. My wife had a great seviche and an incredible home made pasta with porcini and asparagus. The non vommited atmosphere sitting on the street in Jaffa is a great experience you feel in a market and then comes the faboulous food. We srayed 4 h. The owner put some latin music we asked for and 2 girls started to dance on the bar. Had the best expierience in Israek in this place. We will surly reurn to try the rest of the food. In sum highly recomended!!!
